IV | accidental video/teneka | night

[Dexter is usually very careful with his PORTAL. He had seen that it can turn on accidentally, and he had made sure that it was either in his pocket or covered up in case he was doing something ... different.  Tonight, however, his mind was elsewhere. He was at Harrison's first birthday party before he arrived, and ... it was quite strange to wake ( Read more... )

And just what do you consider a monster?

Something that isn't human.

[He answers like this is common knowledge, possibly because he wants all of the traces of what he had been thinking about away from him.]

Something or someone?

Something. Maybe those little bugs that bite you at night.

[Because someone that is a monster is no longer human. In his eyes, at least. Also, jokes. All around.

He wasn't human. He was his own monster, driving around for his own Dark Passenger.]

[Zinc doesn't mess with teneka, and he doesn't like to show his face on the network either, but Dexter is always such a special case.

He has has elbows on a table, his chin resting on folded hands as he stares into the camera. His mind is generally a very closed off and orderly place, but Dexter had asked him for honestly. What a simple way to prove he isn't lying.

Of course... he starts with what's always on his mind. You definitely wanted a preview of all his lurid fantasies, didn't you, Dexter? He might even be able to spot himself somewhere in the overwhelming blur of faces, maybe catch a glimpse of Tony or Noah or Barbet too.]

[He doesn't respond to that for a few minutes. The last thing he needs in his mind are Zinc's thoughts and...fantasies. He doesn't want to deal with him. He can't ..no.]

I'm not in the mood, Zinc.

Are we accepting that's my name now?

[He reins his disgusting mind back in, with an annoying little smile.]

The fact that you even have one surprises me.

[He is not playing the name game with you today, Zinc.]

Do you really think the monsters ever truly disappear?

Surprisingly, hers did.

Wouldn't one consider this to be a good thing?
You sound like you're troubled.

I'm fine, it's the idea that's troubling.

[Because why hasn't his disappeared? Why had hers been so easy?]

Having trouble calming your thoughts tonight?

It wasn't much trouble until the PORTAL turned on.

I has quite the nasty habit of doing that.

So I've noticed. I've made sure to keep it hidden most of the time. The last thing I need is someone watching me undress.

Sometimes what we think is a monster really isn't one at all.

[Oh, she had no idea.]

You'd be surprised.

Care to elaborate? Different people have different ideas, yours might be more pedestrian than mine.

[Or maybe not pedestrian but less supernatural at any rate.]

People don't stop being pedophiles.

[They never did. It was always there, always inside them. That's why he had to kill them.]
