[ And here's Noah, minding her own business when she comes across one of the vita chambers. Immediately she freezes, knowing she had seen them somewhere before. And when she realizes where, she starts backing up cause her daddy taught her good --

Right into Jack.

She spins around, pulling the gun from her hip and pointing it at the freak in the bunny mask. ] They're coming up here now?

[Though Jack is startled beyond belief by her backing up into him, once he sees the gun, he has enough presence of mind to pull his pistol on her in response-until he realizes he recognizes her.]

What the hell are you doing?!

[ So now they're both standing there like dumbshits with guns pointed at each other.

It's a good day in Promenade. ]

Jack? [ Since she kind of recognizes his voice. ] What the hell are you doing?! Who wears a shitty mask like that?!

[Well, at least she recognizes him.] Do you think I want to wear this mask?! You've been here longer than I have, so you should know better than I do that it's not like I have any goddamn choice!

[Gideon has, somewhat reluctantly, begun wandering the city in order to start making sense of things. Which is one he comes across one of these curious contraptions. His heart leaps a little in fear at something so alien to him, but he can't help but walk up it, cautiously, and press his hand to the glass]

[The electricity behind the glass continues to crackle and glow without regard to his touch.

Of course it doesn't take long at all for Jack to notice this, and, being the easily startled (and also justifiably paranoid) man that he is, he panics.] Hey, don't touch that!

[Startled, Gideon snatches his hand back and turns to Jack with a wide-eyed apologetic look on his face. He gives the man a tiny half-bow, in lieu of being able to say 'I'm sorry']

[Jack's irritation quickly gives way to confusion. Why is this man bowing to him?]

Uh... That's...fine. It's fine. Just don't touch any of these, okay?

[Naoto's fascinated by these mysterious and sudden installations. She approaches one, knowing better than to touch something she doesn't recognise but still marvelling at the device. And yes, she's being a good girl and wearing her mask

[It takes a moment for Jack to notice her, and when he does, he's wary. It hadn't occured to him to try and keep these things hidden, or that others might investigate or even try to vandalize or tamper with them... But, well, it's too late now.]

Ah... Be careful around these.

[That's a good question. He rubs the back of his neck, looking over the chamber and considering his answer.] ... Not really. I've been dreaming them up here, but I've never actually made one itself.

[Out for her daily stroll, Musetta pauses when she sees the thing. Once more, she is glaringly out of place in her green early 19th century day gown... She stops twirling her lace parasol and watches him for a moment.

When she finally speaks up, her voice is soft and curious.]

Jack? What are these?

Oh, uh...

[Somehow Jack hadn't expected to see her out here, and the question catches him off-guard.]

They're, uh... They're called Vita-Chambers. [Or maybe it's just her presence in general that's caught him off-guard.] Be careful around them.

[She has that effect, or so she's been told. She frowns and nods.]

I shall.... But, what exactly do they do...? If you don't mind my asking.

Uh. [He hesitates, wondering how best to explain it.] They... They bring people back from the dead.
