[ The PORTAL comes on, showing Queen Valrune smiling beneath her mask. For once, King Tivorno is not around. For anyone who paid attention to the chatter of the locals, they might know that it’s because today is the beginning of one of Promenade’s holidays: Soledate. ]

[ Smiling beneath her mask, she gestures toward two banners behind her. They are red with orange trim and on them is an emblem of a sun -- or perhaps a sunflower. With the way it’s stylized, it’s a bit hard to tell. ]
It is time for one of my personal favorite holidays -- Soledate, the celebration of day, nature, and...
[ Her smile becomes a bit more mischevious as she leans forward. You can’t tell, but behind her mask, she is definitely waggling her eyebrows. ]
...well, let’s call it “togetherness”, shall we?
[ She straightens, but there’s still a twinkle in her eye. ]
It is a time for fun, a time to mingle with your fellow residents and enjoy yourselves. Make new friends or spend time with old ones; the choice is up to you!
I will be keeping an eye out for someone to crown as the Master of Ceremonies, who will spend their time with me during the festival, and for two people to crown as the King and Queen of Soledate. Whoever I pick for these ‘royal’ positions will be granted a room at the palace for the remainder of the holiday. At the end, all three of you will receive a gift from me.
Don’t mind my eyes, however! Play games, have a bonfire, pick out a new mask -- have fun!
