[01] First Hypothesis || Day || Text;

It's come to my rather unfortunate attention that as of late, we have newly awoken sleepers within our midst, here in the city. Now, usually one would think they would be overjoyed to come here, but further research and probing suggests they are all actually ungrateful and rude. Hostile, even, in some cases. Honestly, most of them act like children ( Read more... )

{Yako is good at adapting. Looks like it'll prove useful yet again, for the moment}

What would you consider to be productive?

Simply going about your normal day, as always. You do remember how to do that, correct?

I remember how I did it back home in Japan, but I honestly don't remember this place or what counts as a normal day for me here.

Perhaps then just re-enact your times in this... "Japan." People here are very accepting and welcoming of new and old ideals.

But how do we belong here and have always been here? I certainly don't remember ever being here before. I mean, a lot of us don't remember, it doesn't mean we're immature. Maybe something bigger is happening? Too many people are scared and confused and calling them names isn't going to help. Besides, how do you know we will remember?

Because Promenade has altered itself to include you, now that you've awoken. And the immaturity comes from certain members influencing others as a whole. They've created a mindless mob for a pointless reason.

Research is for much more than studying, boy. [A clipped voice at this.] And put your mask on, you know the law here.

Yeah, but I didn't know that. Last I checked, I was still in Greece. Sorry for freaking out, I mean, if you woke up somewhere you weren't before, wouldn't you wonder what happened?

[He frowns but puts it on]

No, I don't really know the law around here. What's the deal with the masks anyway?

No. Seeing as it's common here, there is no need to worry. [:| fais]

The masks are for equality. Her Majesty wore one, and as a result, everyone followed suit and made it become a law. Anyone caught without one during the day will face consequences.

You can't... blame someone for panicking... [Lightly sighs.]

What are... places of solace?

[His voice is short and full of precision.] Panicking? Absolutely not, that is a common reaction. It's the end of deciding to terrorize others in the process that I am against.

Places of solace are essentially a location you have become familiar with or grown attached to in your slumber. When you awaken, these places take form and add to the city.

Some people... react differently than others, or than what's expected. How they act might be different, but why they act that way... can be the same. Because they are panicking.

Why... do you need them? [And there's an unspoken 'and us' along with that.]

You honestly think that people here are just going to sit back and swallow that?

Seeing as most people have common sense, I would hope so. Unfortunately that cannot be said of everyone I come across, Mr. Stark.

[Honestly, face to face is the way to do things so Tony switches over to that function, revealing a mask-free face because seriously? Screw that stupid rule.]

Common sense dictates that we come from our own worlds and not from Promenade. Nice name by the way, sounds like the tackiest tourist spot ever created so your King and Queen must have great taste.

Mr. Stark. Your mask.

[Because really, you do not want to irritate Mr. Douchebag. Then again, this is Tony.]

Honestly, Mr. Stark, you have a very bad definition of "common sense." And the name of the city generated long before they came to rule. Everyone agreed to it, and so it stays.

Productive citizens are people who go about their daily lives. As for their Majesties, you can come across them in one of their weekly public processions. I'm sure they would be more than eager to see you.
