[ The feed clicks on after the PORTAL tumbles off one of the surfaces in the room. There's a loud growl in the background and a rumble, then the groan of a bed bearing the weight of something much heavier than normal. A claw clicks onto the ground nearby the PORTAL, then vanishes to be replaced by another, and then the scaly, black texture of a ( Read more... )

[So, Fabian still climbs to the rooftops once in a while, out of habit and occasionally because he doesn't want to be bothered by people. This one of those days --

What the hell is that. More importantly, what is that smell.]

[ Ladon is hanging out on the rooftops, currently watching the street opposite to where Fabian's coming from, so he'll spot the back of the dragon first. He sits with his wings folded, tail swishing now and then. Nothing terribly interesting is going on below, but a few locals have gathered to stare up and wave at the dragon.

The fact that they aren't afraid of him still perplexes Ladon. He tilts his head and snorts smoke. ]

[At least whatever that is, Fabian hasn't been noticed yet. He debates for a moment whether he should stick around or just leave, but his curiosity and dulled danger sense kind of win. So he cautiously tries to climb onto the roof, though not very stealthily because he fails at that.

Just. That smell. He hasn't smelt anything this terrible since -- wait a minute.]

[ He continues to watch the people below, then settles himself with a grunt, much like a very large, scaly dog. He curls his tail around him before resting his chin on the rooftop and sighing. ]

[Hanging out in car form in a random alley, he transforms when his sensors warn him something big is heading his way overhead. He's even taken out his blaster in case it was a Decepticon or one of those monsters he heard about.]

[ Well, Ladon's not terribly big-- about the size of a horse. But he's sure as hell not easy to confuse for a bird. And he's flying low, like a small plane, and for anyone unused to big, flying lizards it's a little startling.

The locals seem to be a mixture of both, pointing, but also smiling, not running in terror. Ladon loops around to land on one roof, rumbling to himself. The humans here don't seem to be a threat, but you never know. ]

[Okay, so not that big. Smaller than even him, and Jazz was pretty much one of the smallest Autobots. But it was startling just the same, so Jazz hopped up to a roof to get a close look, blaster held at the ready in case Ladon should attack.]

Okay...so what in the pit are ya? Never seen anythin' like ya 'fore...

[ Ladon backs up at the appearance of the robot. He remembers the motorcycle one pointing something similar at him before, so the blaster makes him nervous. He snorts smoke, opens his wings just a bit. He's not in full-blown "intimidate by looking bigger" mode yet, though. ]

Don't you dare shoot me, yeah? Damn it, that one talkin' toaster said he'd tell the others 'bout me.

[ Lior saw that video, as brief as it was, and as soon as she recognised the dragon she was bolting out of the shop and down the street. She didn't have a destination in mind, obviously, but it wasn't very hard to miss him when he was in that form. Why was she so desperate to find him? Probably because of that entire conversation of 'humans hunt dragons' they had when he first showed her that form.

Eventually she passed by an alleyway, having to backtrack when she caught a glimpse of the scaly beast sitting there. ] La-- [ she probably shouldn't yell. So instead she just quietly snuck into the alleyway and whispered. ] Ladon...?

[ He looks up from where he's curled, in between stacks of boxes. This is probably the cleanest alley he's been able to find, but he's already attracted a few things-- namely one curious elf and a host of cats. One of the cats is gray and fluffy and particularly comfortable with cuddling up with the dragon. He's the one who feeds her, after all, and even a change in form doesn't fool a well-fed cat. ]

M'guessin' you saw it. [ Miserably; ] Looks like everyone's gonna know there's a dragon here now, yeah?

[ She stepped closer, carefully moving in between the boxes and being wary of the cats that had curled up to the dragon. When she reached him she frowned, nodding. ] Yes, but... well they won't know it was you, right? [ hopefully not. She only knew it was Ladon because he had told her.

She reaches out, setting a hand on his jaw in an attempt to be reassuring. ] Even if they did find out, they won't hurt you. At least I don't think there's anyone that would. You haven't done anything wrong.

[ He rumbles a little. A few cats move off, shaking themselves and meowing when Lior draws closer, but this doesn't seem to bother him. He has a way of attracting strays anyway, they'll be back if they want the warmth. ]

M'hopin' no one figures it out. Gonna prob'ly have to lie my ass off if they do.

[ Normally he didn't have to lie about these things-- he'd known when the change of season would be coming in Nieve, and even if he hadn't, he lived outside the city on a private lot. Being surrounded by humans was very different from that. ]

Dunno if that'll matter, yeah? People get scared of things they ain't used to.

{The commotion he caused ended up waking Yako, but he was long gone vy the time Yako got up to the room to check things out. She had a mild panic attack at the state it was in, at least until she checked the Network. Then a few dots began to connect.

Yako will never, ever be as smart as Neuro, but she's far from stupid. If there were people who could turn onto cats here, and dragon-girls who looked mostly human...And she had thought that dragon's grumpy, slightly exasperated look had seemed familiar that day ( ... )

[ He coasts over the buildings, looking for a comfortable and clear roof in the sun... Only to spot Yako stretched out on one. Come to think of it, this is in the same area where she'd come to bother him in his sleep before. He shouldn't be surprised that she'd be there.

He is surprised to see her waving, though. She'd been pretty terrified after that meeting from what he could tell.

So he lands on a nearby roof, still keeping his distance for now. ]

{Well, it was better than she had hoped. Yako was have convinced he would have ignored her and continued on.

Truth be told, Yako is still a little scared, but bright green-ish eyes and deadly talons keep making her think of a certain demon. She can't stop the warm nostalgia that bubbles up anymore than the sweet tilt of her lips that accompanies it. She stretches languidly, still half-asleep, and reluctantly sits up. For the first (sober) time since she came to Promenade--maybe even since Neuro left--Yako offers a small, completely sincere smile to a being she may or may not know. It isn't as bright as her usual one--it isn't designed to convince anyone of how well she's not actually doing--and some part of her finds it equal parts funny and disconcerting that it's easier to let the proverbial mask drop around something lacking a human face.}

I cleaned up the room you trashed, on the off chance you were worried. As much as I could, anyways. I'm sure whatever magic's here took care of the rest, or will.

{She could be talking about ( ... )

[ He looks over at her. He was hoping against his own logic that no one would notice the trashed up room, or that people wouldn't recognize it from the PORTAL. But it was difficult fooling people you'd been living with for a while.

Still, he had no reason to think Yako suspected who he really was. After all, she could just be wondering where her housemate went and why he'd let a dragon into his room.

... Dames hat a way of being clever, though.

He settled on the roof, snorted some smoke in her direction. ]

[ Rebecca hasn't seen the video broadcast, and is in fact walking around outside. She's trying to work up the nerve to go into the gardens again; ever since being attacked by some sort of shadow thing in them and getting lost in the twisting thorns, she's been trying to avoid it. She hasn't quite made it there, yet; in fact, she's slipping into an alley to sit down for a while. ]

[ He hears the footsteps coming and freezes. He had a feeling this would happen eventually, someone would walk into an alley he was sleeping in. He was covered in cats as always, and had to quickly and gently as possible shake them off before he started slinking up the side of the building, glancing back now and then to see if the person nearing had noticed-- though it would probably be hard not to-- and if they were making any move to harm him. If it was a local, they'd probably just point, or smile and wave. If it wasn't, well, the reaction could be any number of different ones. ]

[ The first thing Rebecca notices is a mound of cats. That's... interesting...

Then, of course, Ladon moves and Rebecca nearly has a heart attack. ]

Oh god, please don't be another Nightwyrm.

[ The Nightwyrm was more green, larger, and didn't have wings, but that wasn't the point. ]

[ Ladon snorts smoke over his shoulder at her, scratching and digging his claws into the side of the building in an attempt to climb up. He struggles, flapping his wings to try and assist in the ascent, and winds up grabbing onto the first metal platform of a fire escape. He sits there then, watching her a bit like many of the startled cats who have darted to different places in the alleyway. ]
