When ordering from a drive-through I always tell them I want the food to go.

For anyone who's interested -- the place I've been working at for the past two weeks, I quit from my job there today, giving a two week's resignation time. It's been hard work. 13-hour long days on standard, and to top that off, at some times the boss has been a real bitch; told us we can't do stuff right, and been otherwise ridiculous -- I've been ( Read more... )

Whoa, 13-hour long days??? that is crazy. how do you have time for this journal, watching TV, and that job? i'm having a hard time with school and a 16-hour-a-WEEK job... and the only TV i watch is Grey's Anatomy, which is only one hour a week.

Haha, that's the problem -- I don't have time for a life! Usually, it's getting up at 6am to get ready for work, arriving at 7, then pulling a day that doesn't end until 8-9pm... so some days, it's 14hours. (i'm a type that is very reluctant to complain, so i'm sorry if it comes off as complaining, it's not my intention at all!) Then you get home, eat and shower... and then you're so damned beat, so all your energy to do something else is slaked. It SUCKS!
But at my coming job, it'll be a bit more "normal" -- on average, 11 hour days, which may not sound like much of a difference, but it will be. So yay for that :D

And hey, school IS like a job. That's the good thing about work -- you don't get any homework, lol. So school plus a 16h/week job is actually pretty dandy of you IMO! What do you work with, when you're not in school? :)

Btw, I love your icon ;) If it said "music is my soul" instead, I so would've snatched it, lol!

Yea 11 hours is crazy. Tonight I'm working about 10 hours, and I'm already pretty dazed by the sound of it. I work overnight at Walmart, lol, which is actually one of the better paying, more flexible jobs around here (for students, like me).

And don't worry, it didn't sound like you were complaining at all. You must really love horses to be able to dedicate such a large portion of your life to them.

Hey, I've got nothing against working at Walmart. Are the people you work with nice, do you get along and so? That usually helps TONS if you're in a job which you might otherwise find a bit... perfunctory.

I do love horses, they've been a part of my life, well, haha, all of it actually. It's the love that keep me going!

Oh, it's not the first time I've got an ulcer, so it's alright ;) Thanks for the concern though!

Wow, I didn't know you liked Johnnie boy! He's one of my absolute favourite artists, forever and back, of all time. Basically, I like most of his stuff (though I still can't for the life of me understand how daughters could pick up a grammy for best song; it's far from the best song on that album!) but this new song sounds very refreshing coming from him. He's been so blues-inspired during the past years that it's great to hear something simply described as "happier" from him.

daughters IS a good song, but i'll agree, not his best. even though i find myself singing it whenever i hear it...

Wow, 13-hour work days? I thought I made long days (leaving at 7am, arriving back home 5.30pm). Poor you :( But yay for the new job, congrats! :)

Glad to hear you quit... and remember, even though she might be nice *now*, she hasn't been nice in the past and she could turn around at any given time.

That being said: ZOMG SO FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! Working with horsies!!! When I was disabled for a couple of years, I volunteered at a riding academy which taught me lots and lots about horses and riding them and taking care of them, but to actually work with horses for most of your life and make your job out of it? That's just plain wonderful.

What kind of horses will you be handling?

Well it sounds like you made the right decision job-wise. I didn't know you worked with horses! How awesome :D I love horses... I don't ride often, but when I used to, I really adored it. I wish I had the time and money to do it more often. My friend used to show them around the state, and I used to tag along and ride hers between her breaks. It's so great! My mother was the real horse enthusiast - she rode her whole life, up until she got sick. So horses are kind of emotional for me, but in a good way :)

I'm glad you feel good about your decision :D I understand completely. If you weren't enjoying your original job, then it's really not worth it.

I hope your ulcer is all healed up! That's such a pain, I'm actually thinking I may have one right now as my stomach has been in such pain these last few weeks. I'll have to get it checked out.

Oh wow, likewise for me -- I didn't know you'd ridden! I'm constantly astounded by learning these things about people I've talked to for a while, and I LOVE it!

I can understand it being emotional for you, considering the story with your mother and all. I hope they remind you of something positive though, and about how your mother loved it; all the passion that's there, with the horses, and all the rest. Lol, taking care of horses and working with them is not a part-time thing, it really is a way of living.

Damn dude, if you've got stomach pains and shit like that for a while now, then you really should go check it out. I HATE going to the doctors, and I always go much later than what I really should, but you should go, NOW! Haha. But how's your stomach normally -- can you stomach (scuse the pun) spicy food and such?

Thanks so much for the support sweetie!!!!! -hugs over and over-

I've only ridden briefly, but I really adore it! It makes me feel very historical, as corny as that sounds... when you ride, I think you get a real connection with nature and history, to think that people used to rely on horses so much for everything. It sounds goofy, but it's what I really enjoy about it :D ( ... )

Aw, that's such a STORY to have with your connection to horses. It's tragical and beautiful at the same time. I loved that you used to buy those glass horses for her -- my grandmother, now passed away, had these beautiful porcelain horse figurines, which I got from her before she died. I've got them in a box somewhere, but I'll break them out some day.

Oh dude, not your appendix, gah! My brother had his removed, it had even gone so far that it had started rotting in his stomach. Where's the pain located at? And how does it feel?
