Sherlock turns up at a murder with John in tow, and the two of them go over the crime scene with multiple sets of fine-toothed combs, and in the end, Sherlock sighs and John shrugs and makes a phone call: "Yes, hello, reverse the charges please - I'd like to reach Charles Francis Xavier, address Westchester, New York. Tell him it's Dr. John Watson.

"Yes, hello, Charles, good to meet you again. I wouldn't be calling if it weren't just the sort of thing you might be interested in. Yes, it's your area of specialization. How about a few days in London? We can have tea, and dinner."

"Certainly, old friend. Let me make the necessary arrangements."

"Tell him to bring his...frenemy," Sherlock says.

"I heard that," Charles says. "I will pass the message on to him, but I make no promises."

The thing is, Holmes and Watson are immensely useful: the one with the appallingly sharp mind and the other with the steady hands. The kills become easier. A hunt he'd thought would take him years is now being compressed down to a timetable of weeks

Sherlock, John and Molly are lost house pets desperately trying to get home. Sherlock and John are dogs and Molly is a cat. You choose the breeds. Yes, it's a Sherlock/Homeward Bound mash up.

It becomes a proper adventure as soon as John gets used to traveling on his bad leg. For his sake, Sherlock sets a slow pace down country lane and through winter-dead field; for his sake, Molly scouts the terrain ahead and brings back little things to eat. Human food, when she can find it, the sorts of things they'd been fed when they were at the house with the drafts and the kind owner Mrs. Hudson.

They curl up together for warmth during the short nights, and John is thankful that both Sherlock and Molly stay close. One of them is always watching over the others, and when it's his turn, John observes how Molly sleeps right next to Sherlock's head, her paw always within reach of his snout; and how Sherlock often lays his long bushy tail over John's own back.

He is the only one of them who really remembers what the house smells like, but he doesn't know how they left it or why, and he wonders if that will be enough to lead them back.

Who would have thought that Charles and Erik's son would be someone like Arthur Or Eames attempt to convince his future in laws that a) he has also 'normal' thoughts in his head (and not only thoughts about new ways to seduce their 'little baby boy') and b) he don't need new holes in his body caused by various knives.
