(Most UN-)Lovely way to end the day

Oct 16, 2008 03:16

Tonight Boobah refused dinner but we got him to eat a bowl of cottage cheese, then he had some cake and ice cream for hubby's birthday. Around midnight, we heard the muffled noise of him crying and Wiggle talking to him. Then a minute later the door was snatched open and came the worried cry of, "MOMMMM! _(Boobah)_ THREW UP!"

My tale of woe is behind a cut to spare the easily squicked )

anniversary, boobah, parenting, ugh

Ugh, that is the WORST!! vomit is so icky, and the poor thing that he got so sick!! do you think something was off, or was it just the combination of foods. *pets you all*

I hope you get some sleep and that the house smells a bit better in the morning. *hugs tight*

Well the house smells better today but still, just the thought if it last night makes me want to hurl. His pillow was "spot clean only; not washable" -- WTF?? And it was SOAKED, so we had to chuck it (hubby tried putting it in the washer and it started peeling apart in chunks and lumps so that was the end of that).

I have NO idea what made him sick, but if he threw up stuff from breakfast, I guess he just hadn't digested it properly, and to tell you the truth, it looked like he had gobbled it and the pieces of fruit were whole/unchewed, so maybe they just couldn't get through his system and clogged him up, and when he got too full it made him throw up. I don't know. :/

the family I work for have this waterproof pillow case they keep under the normal pillowcase on their one son's bed. I don't know where they got it, but it might be helpful for the new pillow in case it's not washable. Just a suggestion. *wink*

gah, that sucks, cause it would be reassuring to at least know what caused it. It's scary too that he's eating too big of bites, cause that's got other risks to it, like choking. Little guy needs to be careful!

Try scrubbing anywhere that it still stinky with vinegar and hot water. Vinegar nullifies the smell I believe.

Even better add some oxygen bleach granules if you have any. In the UK it's called OXY something and comes in a brilliant pink tub? It's brilliant on organic stains.

But won't OXY (we have it too :D) take out the color of the carpet and leave a white spot behind? :/ It's gold carpeting, and I'd hate to ruin it even more noticeably since this is a rental house and we'll lose our deposit if we do. :(

I might try the vinegar, though. I don't know, I went back and re-scrubbed a second time last night with just liquid dish soap and hot water, and sprayed odor neutralizing air freshener, and it seems to have worked, but I haven't gotten close to the floor and sniffed. I'll probably do that when I get home from my appointment. :P His pillow was not washable, though, so that's ruined and we had to chuck it out. Ugh.

My Oxygen bleach contains sodium percarbonate and is definitely colour safe, even in boiling water but you'd have to check the label on yours just to be safe I think. Mine is called Amway All fabric Bleach, although the shops sell Oxy (the pink tub) but I don't have that one to check at the moment.

Shame about the pillow, hope he's feeling better now.
