That takes the cake

Nov 12, 2008 22:57

Today, well, actually tomorrow (the 13th) is Mr. Ilke's 33rd birthday. As a perfect example of what being insanely busy will do to your brain, we scheduled his birthday party a day early by accident. We had two cakes, and a lot of cancellations due to much illness going around. It turned out to be a lovely number of people and some that I haven't ( Read more... )

Happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to you,
happy birthday Mr. Ilkeeeeeeee,
happy birthday to you :D

You are so freaking cool. I'm jealous. And very happy for you. But still jealous. (You, not Mr. Ilke! Well, he may be cool, too, but that's not what I meant)

Now get to work!
(We want it to be over because we miss you!)

Happy Birthday Mr. Ilke!

Sounds like you had a great party - I love those shirts, and cementing the floor was a really cool gift! How'd you pull that off behind his back?

*iz sneaky, very very sneaky*

Heh. I work from home, so I met with cement contractors while he was working at the studio a few days ago, and then set it up for yesterday, again while he was at the studio. It took them about 2 or 3 hours and was mostly dry before he even got home. Unfortunately, they moved some heavy wood so they could work, and didn't move it back. And he could see it at the base of the basement stairs. So, he discovered it before I could present it. lol. His reaction though was great. :)

Very very clever. And such a really cool idea. I'm going to have to start thinking like you.

I have such a hard time buying anything for Mr. Wildcat cause he always says he doesn't want anything. Didn't even have a party this year, so we're having a cake on Saturday when we're having my son's b-day.

I'm sometimes like that with my own birthday. I just can't think of what I want and I don't want to put any effort into a party. I suppose it depends on what is going on in my life at the time. Don't start thinking like me though. It's expensive! lol. The only presents I seems to be good at are the expensive ones. *sigh*

What was the message in the cement?

"CHICKABOOM
11-13-08
Happy Birthday (Mr. Ilke)!"

and a heart with a dot, like a period after it. - it's Mr. Ilke's "signature doodle." Would have been good if he could have done it himself, but the cement would have dried too soon.

Chickaboom is a little thing we do. We take turns leaving a little "chickaboom" message for each other in strange places. We don't do often, so it's a nice surprise. We are very silly.

And Happy B-Day to Mr. Ilke. That's cool. What a thoughtful present with the cement. He's lucky to have you!
