Oral Exam

So it's one week till my big General Knowledge Exam (also known as the oral exam). This exam is usually about 3 hours long though it can be longer and consists of your committee asking you pretty much any question that they think you should have learned over your time here. I totally understand your anxiety around this test! Just remember, you already KNOW all of this stuff. If you don't know something, you're not going to learn it now. Go over your notes for a refresher, but don't beat yourself up. Make sure you get full nights of rest leading up to it (Xanax if you have to at night, totes serious). Getting well rested will probably help you tons more than any amount of rehashing will. If you're well rested, your chances of having a stress blank out or anxiety fog will be less, and I totally agree that is the bigger concern.

You're brilliant, you totally got this. If you want someone to rant scientific minutiae at just to make sure you're clear and concise, feel free to poke me. It's been a long time since I've had a science geekout. :3

I appreciate it, I agree getting sleep seems to be key. I just have a hard time quieting my mind before I fall asleep and it even creeps into my dreams.

But thankfully this will all be over soon.
