An unfortunate conflation

The title I used for my LJ is "But they don't sparkle, they burn", which is from a rather nice/sinister little poem by John Agard:

Beneath my clown's disguise
I have things in my eyes
Resembling diamonds
But they don't sparkle
they burn

...it being a Friday and me wanting to muck about, I googled the phrase to see how obscure the poem might be. What came ( Read more... )

Ah, the 'real vampires don't sparkle' problem, then.

With regards to shining, I quite liked the troll poem from Thud about Mr Shine. And I am not sure whether the thought that Mr Shine = Edward Cullen scares or amuses me.

Wouldn't changing your journal name be a surrender to the hordes of Twilight readers? It's probably best just to ignore their existence and anything they might say.
