This haircut kills fascists

I need to make some changes in my life but it's all so daunting. The work situation sucks. I applied for another position in the firm and got knocked back without even an interview. This speaks volumes for the high regard they hold me in. I'm invisible to these fucking people. I know one of my colleague got an interview and it hurts me to think he ( Read more... )

I quit programming to be a project manager and I regret the decision. Sensible people do two years at a company and move on - keeping the skills up and most importantly, not having to worry about anything legacy.

Thank you for the suggestions, I actually am going to look into those. I'm still insisting to my doctor that it is something physical, but I will admit that exhaustion and depression go hand in hand and feeling crap is a viscious circle. Feeling poorly isn't helping me do my job, which in turn makes me feel worse.

Thanks again for taking the time to help.

Why wouldn't you be confident of finding something else? The job market is definitely on an upward trend and you were confident enough you had the skills for the internal post. Try applying for jobs - you never know, and writing out all your accomplishments can be quite good for the soul too.

I've been in jobs like that - they wear you down, but I did get another job and it is much better (well, it pays a lot more). ;)

Yeah. You are my role model, I remember your woes. Half my problem with job hunting is that the company send me on trips a lot. I live on trains and in hotels.

Anyway, yes. Job hunting is the only way forward. Thanks for dropping by.

That strikes me as a perfect time to write job applications. It's really a bit blatant if you're writing them in the office.

Not that that stopped me...

I'm not really sure how I got here, I was organizing my LJ tags (very OCD, I know) and thought I'd check and see how everyone else does it. But once I'm here I wanted to leave you a note and hope you're doing and feeling better now ( ... )

Thank you for reaching out, it's really sweet of you. Work continues to suck and I have good and bad days, but I'm fine really. Don't worry.

Yes, your addition to the comm was a great boost. Interestingly, although there were only half a dozen of us playing, we did get an awful lot of readers. There was one 24 hour period we were ranked something like 150th most popular comm on LJ. Which was kinda insane but lovely.

Glad to hear you're fine. Sounded like you needed a hug, and the best I could do was a LJ reply. :)

Wow, that's fantastic that the comm got a lot of readers! I know we were quite active for a while, and the stories were all very inspiring. I saw links to the comm in su_herald and "more links than a bag of sausages", two BtVS aggregators. I would never have dreamed of a high rank like the 150th overall though. How encouraging that we few, we happy few, we band of writers were able to achieve something that lofty! And great idea, that last-line-first-line challenge! :)
