I loved the style of this. I could really see Sylar thinking like this, actually making himself rules to follow. I think my favorite was being distinct, because it ties into Sylar's whole need to be special. The last one really packs a punch, but it totally makes sense, and I love you tie it back to one of the earlier rules. Great, creative way to use the prompt!

At first, the fic kinda started out as a joke...like Sylar was reading a how to guide and adapting the rules to himself but then it evolved into Sylar actually making the rules.

AHHH I LOVE YOUR USE OF PROMPT! So clever and satisfying and kinda desperately sad. You might as well title the list "8 Simple Ways To Not Be Yourself And Hurt Others," lol. I most especially dug "Goes with rule 4. Especially do not ever tell a pretty girl your business." So funny, and true, and bitter.

I actually wrote Rule 4 and 8 consecutively and then filled in the other rules, lol. But I think I let my own bitterness about the show seep into the fic...but hey, it works for Sylar's character!
