Hugh Jackman to Host Oscars.

Well, that's... something new. Makes me want to watch it a little more. Yessss! It was like New Year's in my house. Well, after we had our minute for grumbling that it didn't have a nomination in Cinematography. Then it would've had the most wins. DAMN YOU, ACADEMY!

Omg yes! And HAHA I loved all the evil looks everyone else was giving when the cameras were on them, everytime they mentioned another win for LotR.

Yes! Poo on everyone else, man.. I still hate the fact that they stuck the LotR people sort of near the back and they kept running up to get Oscars. PUT THEM IN THE FRONT. THEY DESERVE IT.

Yeah! That would've been cool, considering the past year. Hugh is a different route, definitely but it's sort of strange they went that way.

I think it's hard to take them seriously, because they are trying to EPITOMIZE the best movies, but unfortunately, as time will only tell, a lot of stuff they choose is really terrible.

Oh yeah. I know a lot of people hate it but most of the time I just dig watching the montage clips of the movies from YEAAARS ago. Because lately, I don't really care about the stuff they pick. Unless it involves hobbitses.

I hate awards show lately. :-/

I'm, selfishly, very disappointed The Dark Knight got nearly completely shut out of the Golden Globes. BLEH. I really don't understand why movies that haven't even been released yet can make it onto the ballot - shouldn't they be considered for NEXT YEAR'S Golden Globes? BLEH. :(

You're not the only one! I haaate large parts of them -- like the red carpet. I don't care about the dresses or suits or fashion stuff. Or the crappy movies. BLAH.

It did? (See how much I pay attention to these award shows? Woe!) Fuck. :\ I agree though! Sometimes I just think, "why bother?" with the award show because only a handful of people might've even SEEN those movies that are nominated but haven't been widely released. It's like this exclusive little club. Whatever.

The Academy's kinda shitty when it comes to action movies though. Which TDK isn't necessarily but they'd probably just lump it into that category. I think the previous sci-fi movie before LotR to be nominated was Star Wars and that was YEARS ago, so. They're crappy.

(Also, I am still bitter that Johnny Depp didn't win for PotC. RAGE. BITTER RAAAAGE.)

I wish the actual ceremonies were a little less ... boring. Everything's just gotten so perfect and stock and planned to a T, and I'm just like, why can't something CRAZY AWESOME happen?! (Of course, I haven't watched any awards shows in like two years, so if something crazy awesome has happened in that time, I suck for missing it. :9 ( ... )
