YES! Exactly what I was thinking and why the ending pissed me off so much. I must also admit that my eyes may have bulged slightly during the infamous More Jack's Than You Can Throw A Peanut At scene, mostly because of shirtless!tattooed!Jack. Hot damn.

I just didn't like the idea of it. Thought they'd try to resolve that in a fourth movie, you know? But nooo.

And YES, shirtless!tattooed!Jack. There's a fanfic waiting to happen and probably has already be written 12 times by now about all those passages written and... I need to read PotC fic again, yis.

What makes you think she stayed home waiting for Will all that time? Who said that she wasn't off being Pirate King with Jr in tow? I never once had the impression that she had just stayed home, waiting for Will to come back.

I think the whole scene just came across to me as her waiting for him to come back -- at first, the scene on the beach looked like she'd wait, but still be out on her own, but the next time it's a somewhat cozier location, she has a child, and her outfit just made it seem like she was waiting rather than off pirate-ing. I might just pin it solely on the outfit really, because it didn't look very pirate-y at all.

And I have an irrational dislike of kids being brought into sequels. I blame The Mummy Returns. Gah. But seriously though, that's how I took it. Maybe if she dressed more pirate-y and her son too, then I wouldn't be so annoyed. This is all first impression though so maybe if I see it again, I'll change my mind. ;)

I have a thing for Girl!Sam too. Witness my crazy SPN genderswap memories category. Heh.

She does look really Sam-like. At first I thought "hey, nice hair, reminds me of Sam" and then I found THAT and holy shit. I'm happy though because I'm having a hard time trying to find a good Jared pic to manip (ahem, already did it for Dean, which was easy because, well, look at him).

I was thinking of you during that scene! And guessed you'd be pissed -- I was too, hell my mom was FURIOUS and kept talking loudly for a minute. I thought it was so stupid. I mean, if you're gonna kill him off at least do it in a cool way, not a "oh, I happen to have a sharp pointy thing and I'm not quite right in the head, let me go and stab the cutie in the gut, kthx." STUPIDITY RUNNING IN THE TURNER GENES WTF.

I know! It was so awkward and STUPID. I hated the way it was executed (much less executed at ALL, wtf.) I'm a little happy I'm out of the PotC fandom loop because Jack/Will is definitely viewed much differently by me now. Hmm.

::hugs:: If you happen to find any good recs of that pairing, let me know. Might take the paiiiin away...
