I spent the weekend with the awesome regala_electra and we watched movies and Farscape and did our nails, then had a pillow fight plotted out our genderfuck fic. Which I was hopelessly sent into embarassing laughing fits over because... well, that would be spoiling it. She said it much better than I ever could. I can't waaaait.

Last night I finished watching ( Read more... )

Wow young Dean! My wife says he is better looking now than when he was younger.

Oh yeah. Gets better with age! Still, it's nice to see him in past stuff and I sneakily incorporate those images in my head as Young!Dean. Those years right before and after Sam went off to college. ;)

Dude, did you ever watch Devour? It's a huge pile of shite, but it has that dude - White? - from DA in it and Jensen's character do stuff. Not in a pervy way, I'm just trying to keep you from being spoiled. Not that you'd care, for it is THAT BAD.

Excellent for vids though, much like S4 of SV, since from the back, Lana makes a good Max sub.

... If Max wore pink and pastels anyway.

Gahh, I tried answering this yesterday but LJ ate my comment. I watched part of Devour -- I need to watch the whole thing, that and Cry Wolf in one go one long, boring, I have nothing better to do with my life kind of day. I'm wondering if it's just my file though because Jensen's voice sounds very high in it. Weird.

And ha, Lana subbing for Max! That's awesome. And now Max'll sub for Lana in my head whenever I watch S4 because that would make me That Much Happier. Man, I need to get DA S2 pronto.

You're braver than I. I just skimmed the who thing and even then I could tell it sucked.

Heh, but would Max really be such a whiny person? Though she did have the magically appearing tattoo as well!

Oh, Alec, so cute, all young and clean-shaven and shaggy-haired ( ... )

Analyze away! :) I love your take on the differences though. I think having watched DA I appreciate Dean more. They're not the same characters but in a way it's like I incorporate Alec into Dean canon. Alec sort of represents the opposite of Dean, what Dean could have been but isn't (at least, the real world version maybe rather than Dean's take like in What Is And What Should Never Be). What Dean could be if he didn't make the same decisions or have to watch over Sam. Or maybe I just like watching Alec do certain things and then see Dean be a dork at times and go "ahaha, Alec would do that!" only not. Maybe when it comes to food

It also reminds me of the few Alec & Dean fics I've found and the balance of power/relationship they have (where Dean thinks of Alec as younger and more inexperienced, naturally).

And my babble boils down to Alec = awesome. As is the shaggy hair, I approve!

Awww! I just finished watching Dark Angel too -- for about the 8th time through, I think. DA's what got me into Jensen and I doubt I'd be watching Supernatural if not for DA. Alec is just so alluring for some reason -- not simply because of his looks (though that's enough!) but because there's a mystery about him that he barely even realises he's hiding. Oh and I love his centric episode - The Berrisford Saga - where at the start he says "I'm okay, Max. I'm always okay." Then, at the end, even though the viewers and Max have all seen what he's gone though, he still just shakes off Max's concern and say "I'm always okay," with his playful smile. I think that speaks volumes about him. Just that episode alone almost makes me like Alec more than Dean. I'm undecided.

I didn't mean to rant so much. :| I've been saving the Supernatural season finale for a rainy day and now I really want to watch it!

Oh yes! I loved that. He's always trying to pass off things as being fine when they're clearly not, but he tries anyway. Kind of reminds me when later on (forgot the particular episode) when Max reveals what happened to Ben to Alec and it's like explaining why she's so much on his case -- she doesn't want him going down that road or anything happening to him, and that's another serious thing he tries to make lighthearted. Oh Alec.

I'm happy that I've had a chance to check out his past work because otherwise I'd miss out on this fantastic character. (Hey, he even made season 4 of Smallville better. And that, my friend, is a graaand accomplishment. ;) )
