there's no unifying theme here

Unless that theme is, wow, I haven't posted in awhile.

I think I nearly broke Rynka the other day. See, there's this book that I can't even look at without going to a very wrong due South place. Wrong mainly because it is a kids book. AND YET SO DIRTY.

joandarck is wise, and everyone should watch Day Break. An amazingly tightly written show, it's ( Read more... )

books, writing, random

Heeeeee. Beware the plot bunnies! They get rabid if ignored too long.

It got canceled something like 6 episodes in, which must have been extremely frustrating to anyone watching it live. It was really good! And not nearly as repetitive as one might think from the premise/having seen Groundhog Day.

It's in the kids department, LURKING. Anytime I even start to forget it, I end up having to put it away again. Someday, I will not be able to hide my amusement and someone will ask me what's so funny and I will have NO GOOD ANSWER. Bears are hilarious?

when a kid asks you what is so funny, you tell them that your friend told you that the squirrel was going to beat Benny to his...honey? And you think she's just nutty because why would a squirrel want honey?

Is that a random enough answer to throw a small child off?

Kids probably won't ask, or if they do, I can get away with claiming the picture is silly. It's more the coworkers that I fear.

which part of Special Hell does perversion of children's books fall into?

Look, I didn't do a thing to the book. All I did was say that being in due South fandom makes that book... difficult.

touche.

Though, you're spreading your disease. And mostly...as umbrella_half has helpfully put it I CAN'T UNSEE THAT!
Honestly, that's the issue.

Er--let me rephrase my original Q. In which part of Special Hell would you find the people who purposefully turn children's books into very wrong punchlines?
