umbrella_half asked for Kirk/McCoy, long words.
Finally, an excuse to cite Anne Fadiman's essay "The Joy of Sesquipedalians," from which I swiped most of the long words and their definitions. Star Trek: Reboot. Kirk/McCoy Suggestive.

This is brilliant! You have combined my love for Jim & Bones with my love for dictionaries. Tee hee!

This was so Jim in so many aspects, and I love how you used his genius-level brain in this manner! This is exactly how I picture Jim to be like! The fact that he can use his love for sesquipedalians to help Bones study and to land Bones himself, just points to that genius mind of his.

Okay, I officially have a new favorite word: sesquipedalians. *ponders* I wonder how I can work that into a conversation.

Thank you! It's fun when Jim uses that brain -- especially when it's in pursuit of Bones.

It's a terrific word, though surprisingly hard to fit in to everyday speech. I jumped at the excuse to use it in fic.
