There is actually a defunct (as in no more posting, but all content is still there) lj community called allaboutspike. It's all Spike fanfic, and there is some very good stuff (along with very bad stuff). Some faves I can recall are someone named Devil Piglet and Barb C.

I don't want to create wank but I would skip herself's stuff. She is a bit of an overwrought writer. Too much, I don't, weepy feely stuff. Some people really like her stuff but I am just not much of a fan of her stuff.

I was combing through my Buffy and Angel links on delicious, and I apparently REALLY like those fandoms as crossovers. *facepalm* I do have a few that I am going to link you to that are not crossovers, but if your friend has any other fandoms that she might know the characters from, lemme know, because I apparently don't read much Buffy or Angel stuff that isn't a crossover.

That's an interesting discovery, actually. There must be something about that world you connect with. IDK what else she'd be familiar with -- I know she reads DC and Marvel and has seen just about any zombie movie ever, if that helps, but I don't know what other tv shows she's watched.
