Hee.

First of, I knew something I'd write would be unclear, simply because I was sleepy -- turns out it was the bit about the Unbreakable Oath. I'm not saying Dumbledore knew about the Oath before Snape even had to take it. I'm saying Snape, if he is who Dumbledore thinks he is, made the Oath to maintain his cover, then would have reported to Dumbledore, with the expectation that Dumbledore A) would find a loophole in the wording, B) would make even stronger preparations to defend himself, or C) would in some way prevent Snape from being able to follow through on the last part -- possibly even by killing Snape. Not that I think of Snape as particularly noble and self-sacrificing, but if he has been working for Dumbledore all this time he has really been courting a very ugly death at Voldemort's hands anyway, so better that Dumbledore do it. It's hard to see Dumbledore going with option 3 though...We know that Dumbledore knows something about the Oath, because Harry tells him of its existence. Of course, we don't know whether ( ... )

As far as "giving up" versus "failing" goes ... that was me trying to work a way around the Oath. In fairy tales, semantics do make a difference. Is not making an attempt the same as failing an attempt? If so, I have failed much more than I have ever done -- still haven't scaled Everest *sob*. ^_^ I assume Dumbledore, being Super Wizard, could do better at finding a loophole. Notice though, that even though Draco had failed in minimally two attempts, Snape had not yet stepped in to do it, until there were other Death Eaters as witnesses ( ... )

Sorry. You're going to have to ask Ami-chan for ones you can argue with. I'm fully on your side here.

And...I thought you were going to find me pictures? Where's my pictures?
Of course, I'm much rather read your wonderfully weaved words than see someone elses pictures.

Well, now that Super!Ginny is being shunted aside ... and the trio will be spending a great deal more time together than they did the past year ... and since teenage relationships are so known for their stability ... really, anything could happen.

Okay, so it's J.K. Rowling, so probably not -- but the fanfic-ers should still be going strong.
