Y/N? I'm leaning towards yes - well, today, anyway.

Which is tricky, because I use 'fan' to mean different, somewhat overlapping things, sometimes in the same sentence. I am a fan of this, but not a fan, you ( Read more... )

OMG little ifreet and her friend Bilbo! ♥♥♥

Do you still read Sentinel?

I rarely exchange emails or IMs directly with anyone, because I worry about imposing. I still usually feel like I don't quite know how all this works.

ME TOO!! I don't get the chat thing at all. I feel like I'm saying "please drop everything and talk to meeeee". I've only participated in scheduled chat.

I'm okay with friending though. I've never asked if I can friend someone. I just do it. I've never had a problem.

Okay, so I'll put you down as a maybe vote? *g*

I do sometimes? Usually when someone I know posts a rec, but every once in awhile I go looking on my own. (I've actually set up an lj message for this one WIP I've been reading.)

Yay, it's not just me! That's why I like the idea of the fandom chats comm, and kinda hope it doesn't shut down. It feels less pushy. For the record, if I've remembered to turn my IMs on, I'm available.

I worry overmuch about friending. I know this, but I do anyway.

can you guess who my favorite turtle was? akarui_rynka October 2 2007, 03:39:17 UTC
I'm too busy mentally picturing you having read d/s slash and then watching season 1 and going...but...i thought he had blonde, spikey hair. huh? ::scratches head, reads some more:: wait, this story describes Ray as an LOUD armani-wearing italian guy... :lightbulb: are there two Rays?

And of course three other versions of that have now run through my head. I wish, I weren't still just a lurker.
also, is it sad that I actually find this post enlightening and not the least bit boring?

Wait, I knew this. Michaelangelo? ifreet October 2 2007, 03:51:14 UTC
Well, by the time I bought season 1, I'd already figured out that there were two Rays (and oh-so-subtly gotten you to explain the plot of BdtH, without telling you it was so I could understand teh Slash). My problem was, dude, Ray Vecchio and the SOULFUL LOOKS. I just could NOT believe there was even a comparable level of slashiness in the latter seasons.

Hee. OH, HOW WRONG I WAS.

You could start by being a commenter in one of your fandoms. There're a couple ds fen whom I only know from comments on various people's fics, but they're totally part of the fandom. Comments lead to conversations. I don't find that sad, I find it flattering. ♥

Statue of ifreet & Bilbo= so cute I have to look away. OMG.

I also had a mad TMNT obsession. One of the saddest days of my childhood was when they cancelled their concert at the Radisson. Remember the "Coming Out of Our Shells" tour? I can still sing the songs...

Hee. Baby!ifreet & Bilbo = Best Friends Forever. Seriously.

I totally remember the Coming Out of Our Shells (Pizza Hut) tour. I talked my mom into the pay-per-view concert. (And then nearly got in enough trouble that she wouldn't let me watch it! Which obviously was traumatic!) I think I could probably sing along if you started singing - at least I'd be able to join in on the choruses.

DSSS seems like so much fun. Also, so much PANIC, because - deadline! I'm still thinking yes, though. I better ask for the sign-up form.

I was very much a lurker, too, but we probably were reading the gwml over the same period of time. That's pretty cool! If you quit reading GWA at M, you didn't get to the author I found odd - Sephiroth. Those stories were really... random.

It's hard to avoid her, I think. Not because she was particularly active while I was on the mls, but because her stories were so outrageous that they tended to get mentioned. *cough* Duo's panther babies. *cough*

Well, actually having met you in RL, I would say you don't have to worry about imposing! You're intelligent, funny, and well-spoken!

And, like you, I feel that dS is my first (and really, only) fandom - i.e., a community of fans in which I participate.

*blush* Thank you! I wasn't actually fishing for compliments, but I certainly appreciate them. I don't know what my deal is when it comes to contacting people. It just makes me anxious.

Yay, due South fandom! So many awesome people!
