I need some new icons. This post has nothing to do with that.
I've finished watching the first episode of Ice Road Truckers, and it was slightly awesome. More awesome than a hot dog at any rate. I think it's something I'm going to keep watching... Serialized documentaries don't count as 'Reality TV,' right? Good. I keep wondering about the first person who thought, "Bet we could drive a semi 'cross there." My parents decided just about everyone on the show sounds like Dad's cousin.
I'm fighting the urge to write in a new-to-me fandom simply because I really, really want one specific character to say this one line. It's stupid, and the last time I tried to write to a line it ended up chucked out of the story. And yet.
And I'm on a huge fanfic reading binge - in all sorts of fandoms-I-don't-read. Except now I guess I do.
Friday, funkyjawa said, "actually, I think you'd like her," meaning Regina Spektor, which lead to me hearing her song Us for the first time. Then yesterday, I came across this vid by lim, which is absolutely awesome (yes, I have one adjective) and uses that song. I'm going to need to buy a copy. I have a feeling that most of the folks on my friends list for whom it will resonate have already seen it, but since there may yet be a few... go watch. The fandom is fandom itself.
