It varies from inmate to inmate.

Request: Examples.

Clarification: Assume Inmate similar to own preconceptions of JA307020.

It might be advisable for you to speak individually with the inmates who have graduated and remain aboard.

Query: Warden Severus Snape among that group, yes/no?

Right. It's already been far too long and I'm sorry about that. Do you still want to go onto the Grid?

[This space intentionally left blank so Rinzler doesn't give away the fact he nearly keyboard-slammed in excitement at this. Composure.]

Yes.

Come to my cabin.

[...]

I should warn you that I'll need to install some new code onto your Disc to make it possible for you to interact with the environment properly. I'll give you the code to look over before I do anything, or you can do it yourself.

Understood.

[He'll just decide which he wants to do once he's seen the code. There's a knock on her door shortly after his reply to her invitation.]

Are you seeking to graduate?

[the best thing about text is that it can't be plaintive.]

[Subtext can be, though. And spending all this time on the Barge has made Rinzler acutely aware that it's possible to be totally truthful and still say the wrong things.]

Seeking understanding of graduation process.

[private]
JA307020 does not anticipate departure in the near future.

Query: user Aliena emotionally transparent?

[Hey, that was sort of playful. No-one must know]

I must remember not to project User fallacies onto you.

[What is this lack of 'fond' tag? Bah. She feels like a bit of an idiot for being worried, but trusts Rinzler not to make it a thing.]

[...That maybe almost got a smile out of him.]

User Aliena only one concerned with possibility of JA307020 departing.

[He's kind of teasing. THE BARGE IS GOING TO IMPLODE.]

Recommend concern only if User fallacies become accurate indications of JA307020's behavior.

[That one's not so teasing.]

This place is wrong.

JA307020 will not adapt. Lack of adaptation means death; death nonpermanent. Inability to adapt, die results in accumulation of code errors results in insanity.

Escape only viable option. Waiting for chance of random departure results in unacceptable chance of insanity before escape; graduation offers small possibility of departure with original personality, directives intact.

I'm not sure there's a definitive answer.

I think a definitive answer might end up being quite restrictive.

[He can take individual versions, too.]
