Where’s the Line. How did that tie into the ep, other than Ben losing it undercover as Harry?
He befriended a criminal. They bonded over the issue of having a son. At least that's the impression I had. He should not emotionally engage himself so much in this, working case as a police officer. Karl was a murderer after all. This line between emotional engagement and being professional started to blur.

Yeah, I got the going too far undercover part, kinda like Miami Vice, but I like your take on pulling in the befriending a criminal part as well. Which is why I hope Karl will be back and give Ben a clue as to where his son is.
I guess maybe that's why the ep didn't fully work for me, Karl wasn't that bad a guy, even though they tried and make him out to be one by showing the torture. I guess the family part sort of outweighed that for me.

Bad guys, not only in the TV, have two faces. At home they appear to be cute and love kittens and puppies, but when they leave it and "go to work" they can be cruel and merciless creatures. Karl killed a man with cold blood so who knows if it was his first time? That's one more reason I like this show: nothing is stereotypical there.

Oh, I seriously doubt it was his first time. I think that's how he built his empire. And yes, I loved that he wasn't a black and white baddie, but it somehow didn't add up for me. I guess because we didn't get to see key scenes and the initial crime seemed kind of unmotivated to me.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but something wasn't as good as in the other eps, aside from the pilot.

It just seemed like it lacked something or like something didn’t fully add up.
I had the same feeling. Probably because important scenes were missing, like the poker game, and Ben rescuing Karl. They clearly put the emphasis on Ben bonding with Karl and especially Stefan. Also, why are the bad/shady guys always Germans?

- Sam again comes out when someone threatens someone else - a father again. Definite hint at the origin of Ben’s DID
YES. Definitely. I SO hope we'll get some backstory this season.

SUIT!!! ADFKAÖDHFAÖSLDHFAÖ!!! :D

Eeep, completely missed this, sowwy!

like the poker game

I SO would have loved to see that. Imagine, Callum and poker. Though I don't think Harry would make a good player, as was borned out by the ep, heh.

Also, why are the bad/shady guys always Germans?

Cuz we is EEEEVIL!
