This is the artwork I created for aeron_lanart's excellent fic for the Torchwood Big Bang, Shattered in Aspect which is now up and posted here. If you've not yet read it then run, don't walk, it's fantastic. Below the cut are the full-size versions of the artwork along with a couple of other bits I ended up not using.

You know how much I love these pictures! I also really like the greyscale collage and the manipped version of your lovely drawing that I haven't seen before.

Well, I had great inspiration to draw on ;-)

I chose to go with the colour version because I was worried it was too much grey and I didn't want to overdo the 'shattered' idea, which was why I kinda abandoned that one too.

Oh I really like that very first one - it's so totally the right body language and facial expression for this fic.

I love how, that left hand side of the "Shattered" images you've got Jack, Ianto, and Methos both contained and split apart by various degrees of broken glass and Shannon - though smaller - perfectly framed in a (relatively) unbroken piece. It all just *fits* perfectly.

And I think that all makes sense... possibly?

The funny part is, that's a manip - it's a pic of Peter from a year or so ago, with an old Highlander screencap head!

I'm really pleased with the Shattered collage, it's the most literal interpretation of the story, and I'd like to think it does show their relationships and emotional state during the whole thing. Umm, I'll shut up now before I sound too pretentious!

Not pretentious at all. I think as an illustration of a story, that piece of art is *perfect* for the fic. You captured everything I was trying to get across with words in a graphic. Can't do better than that!

Also have to admit to being very pleased that Siannon made an appearance in it too...
