I share your pain! In buckets. Which I didn't cry - just.
Yay for Immortal Ianto though - especially as I can imagine the look on Gwen's face as *he* resurrects too. *nods* Yes, that shall now be canon for me.
Evil crossover muse can't help but think of the mutual Jack/Methos h/c that's going to be needed after this though. Bad muse.
I an so pissed at his death I can not speak!! I agree it was fucking pointless - I loved Ianto - too upset to make coherent comments. Crying buckets. I haven't been this upset over a character death since Wash on firefly!!!
You're not the only one to mention Wash - I've been upset since, but I saw the movie first, series second, so it didn't have a huge impact on me.
I've been upset about character deaths, Tosh, Owen, Liam in Coronation Street *grin*. But the only time I remember feeling this upset about it was Richie *sniffle*.
ETA: I forgot Wesley and Cordelia and Spike. How could I forget them?!
Since I knew all about Richie from the get go i was able to avoid that evil episode and as far as I'm concerned he's still around :))I have truly never dealt with the idea that he's not).
Wash's is the death that was the biggest surprise and now Ianto - I had no clue!
Nathan Stark in Eureka came out of the blue too - he was too hot to die. [g]
Spikes not dead - the comicbooks post the finale of Angel prove that and they were written by Joss
I'm reading After the Fall, so I know Spike's not dead, I meant when he died at the end of Buffy - it was so noble I bawled like a baby. Even though he came back, it still upset me when it happened!
That's not a bad idea actually...I mean, nobody that Jack brought back in that way has died a second time (that I can think of), so it is theoretically possible that the energy does more than resurrect once, that maybe Ianto (and Gwen) will live a little longer, or get a couple more reboots?
I'm sensing a plot bunny, quick run away!
In all seriousness though, I think it does need to be a concept we've already been introduced to, they can't just wave a magic wand (for example, the 456 being able to bring him back for some reason. Although, actually, if they were able to bring him back to use him a la Wesley in Angel....)
I'm sensing a plot bunny, quick run away! No I shall not run away. I shall feed the plot bunny. NCIS team has to go to Cardiff on a case, they bring Richie (Abby and Duckie too). There they have to deal with Torchwood. (which has differently immortal Jack and new Immortal Ianto.)....oh and Methos is there as well.
*insert disclaimer that I know it's a TV show and a fictional character*
I'm heartbroken. More upset than I thought I would be, and also upset that it was one of those 'piss your hero off/'motivate' beyond reason by sacrificing his lover in a pointless way' kinda tropes. I came to love all of the main cast and it was bad enough losing Tosh *and* Owen, but Ianto...
So yeah, I'm kinda utterly gutted, and see little reason to watch a potential future season, much as I love Jack, Gwen and Rhys.
Sorry to ramble on, but I hadn't posted about it yet.

I'm probably not going to watch season 3.
So, anymore Immortal Ianto? Just imagine how you can change this with an Immortal Ianto...

Don't let Ianto's death put you off watching though, this is probably the best series of Torchwood. Ever.

Yeah, I'm feeling much the same, though after tonight, not sure there will be any more...
