Since it was pointedly in your face, literally, let's get it out of the way first and foremost. Yes, the billed full-frontal male nudity was a groundbreaker in local theatre, but as it happens, was hardly a point of contention or focus when caught up in the unfolding plot as one was.
A taut incisive script with tour de force acting makes Quills a must-watch indeed. The production was water-tight with strong and able support on all fronts, the set, sound and lighting lifting the work to loftier heights.
As with all good plays, one was kept on one's toes throughout as the drama was enacted out and one's mind whirs into action in deciphering the inherent messages. With so many teasing and baiting talking points to not only keep social commentary alive but buzzing, with so many accepted norms being challenged and overturned, it was as good as it gets.
