Part Two
He's not angry, he tells himself. He's not. It's just… he expected more of Robin. He stalks back to the bar, leaving his friends to their beer and he orders a martini. Boob-chick is still there but talking to her now would make him feel brittle so he downs his drink in one and heads out, telling himself that he needs some

This part was really interesting with Robin trying to figure Barney out and Barney not too sure what he was feeling.
Yay! James is appearing more and more in fanfics. I am happy. :) Can I say I started it?

If I don't get the word "silk" in at least once in any Barney-related fic, I believe I have to pay up $100. Isn't that the rule? ;-)

It's weird, because a lot of stories stop at the point that Barney and Robin get together. But isn't it much more interesting to work out what would happen next? I actually got far more into this than I thought I would.

Yeah you did! *fistbump*

And I wrote that BEFORE Little Minnesota aired! I was SO furious. So, so furious. But I think it's okay. I talked myself down from deleting the whole segment...
>Haha, Sam. At least you're consistent!
It's so that, when they tell us what James' son's name is, I can just do a search and replace edit. ;)

I think that Barney's extremely wise and he knows how to read women really well, so he makes the right call by holding back. Plus he's also crazy-scared about losing Robin.
>I love how you make the last line of each verse (because your fics are like poetry) something contradicting previous tension between them and telling the reader how much they're actually falling for each other.
Awwww! Thank you so much! That's really flattering. And yes, it was very deliberate to show that both of them are having really contradictory thoughts. Although I think Barney's much more sure of his feelings than Robin is.
I kind of want to carry on with this story now...

YES! I'm glad that you mentioned how Barney would feel about Robin in an open relationship. Look at his reaction to her in the naked man. I'm not sure why, but I'm just not buying an open relationship between these two.
You having Barney wondering how he'll ever go back to being who he was is perfect. I think that's a huge factor for his character in general. I don't know. I feel like she definitely has the power to destroy him.

Yes, I think that Robin *does* have the power to destroy him. There's potential for a lot of heartbreak there because I don't think he believes he actually deserves her. Which is kind of sad really.
The more I think about this, the more ideas I get for continuing this universe... :)

I'd definitely be interested in reading more in this universe! I like how you're exploring their new relationship. I'd put more of what exactly I liked about this chapter, but that would be all of it.
