She rounds on him, mascara smeared across her cheeks. Marshall drapes his arm around her but she shrugs it off as she realizes the mess Barney's in, ( Read more... )

Yeah, like I said to Meg below, I've left this open for possible further dabbling. But in this story I didn't want to dilute Marshall's POV or his downfall but cutting to other character's POV, or pussying out of the harsh ending.

I hope it worked as a coherant story anyway.

And thank you, for both the spaz and the more serioius comment.

Oh, wow!! I mean, good for Marshall getting Barney out of there, but it still feels like you ended this story on a MEGA cliffhanger. Because now won't the same thing happen to Marshall that almost happened to Barney? And that's no good either, because it puts Lily and everyone else in danger.

But still. Yay for you not killing Barney! (Again.) And I'm glad you finished out this story, though it seems like you could do something else in this verse if you wanted to. Evil!GNB's such a fic goldmine. And you're awesome, but you don't need me to tell you that again.

Oh don't get me wrong, I really DO think there are legs in this actually turning into a proper 'verse! I may very well continue it but from someone else's Point of View. I just didn't want to dilute marshall's journal and his downfall, you know?

YOU END IT THERE?! WHAT POSESSES YOU TO END IT THERE?!?!?!

lol The entire thing was totally great though, no complaints from me :)

Poor Marshall, unwittingly falling into a trap. Yet, I'm sure that even if he knew of this outcome he still would have helped Barney.

I wonder how much better, or worse, Marshall would be for this. On one side he has mad latent fighting skills, but on the other, he's a huge softy. However, if they could turn a hippie boy into a Barney-grade corporate spy the sky's the limit I guess...

Ah well, I very well may continue this, depending on what comes out of Monday night's episode. Hopefully it'll give me some inspiration. But I didn't want to dilute Marshall's POV, or his journey, or the savage ending!

Oh nooooooooOOOOEEESSSSS!!!

Okay, bullet points (cause I figure they're gonna be easiest):
- (okay, technically they're dashes... dashing dashes ;) )
- Lily thwacking Barney is an awesome visual
- >> Like why the hospital didn't call Barney's emergency contact when he was brought in, and why was Barney even allowed home. << YEA-HUH!!!! Go Marshall! Lawyer Marshal, lawyer!
- I really -really- want to know who that was on the other end of that phone call. And what they said. Oh-nooooooes!
- Marshall getting Barney's job is a little... scary? (Inch, love the name btw) I mean, it's kind of like he got Barney fired so that he could get the job, but not really, because he didn't know, but then he ENDED UP GETTING IT! GAH! NO!
- Way to explain why there aren't any kiddie/kiddie bumps yet ;)
- I love the way you got Barney and Robin back together, Barney needing, Robin needed. It just makes sense to me. <3 ( ... )

Inch was the name of a detective in a story about a scottish serial killer. I love the name but he was a horrible guy. I really wanted to steal it. :-)

I like the idea of leaving the story there... for now. Because there's other character's POV I could explore, but it would have cheapened Marshall's downfall to include them here.

I want to wait and see what Monday's episode brings.
