Mehhh... High Schoo Musical has never held a place to my heart. Just not too fond of the actors in the movies.
Next to Normal is AMAZING. Like, I listened to and sang those songs so often during camp people were sick of me singing. :) Plus the guy who plays the son on Broadway is really cute. :] My personal favorite is I'm Alive.
In French?! I can't understand it so I can't really read it, but that's amazing!
I've never seen the play but I think I picked up the twists okay. A shiver went through my spine at the reveal of the secret of the son, when she lost her memory through ECT and at the end with the son/dad. I freaked out totally in the car.
I haven't seen the play either! I so want to after watching them on Tony's, however. The part right after the ECT when the son sings Aftershocks is just so chilling!
I'm desperately hoping to go see NTN in New York in December but I'm already seeing Hair and my hubby is bitching about seeing too many shows. The pig.
And yes, several people have said that about the French. Is it an okay translation? I don't speak French! This came completely out of the blue.
Ahhh, the cold war. LOL. I love you. And I LOVE Chess. It's one of my favorite shows everrrrrrrr.
High School Musical! I love it. So much. And I am not ashamed to admit it. It's silly, unabashed fun. Totally saw the third one in the theatre. Anyway, that swimming pool set sounds just like the one in Aida, if you're familiar with that?
You love CHESS!?!?! I knew we were MFEO! Seriously, I was amazed at how many of the words I still remembered this morning, singing along to it in the car. Elaine Paige ROCKS MY WORLD. And aaaaawwww Murray Head!!! His last song - Pity The Child - made me think of Barney for some reason. MOMMY ISSUES!
You know, I've never seen Aida. But I want to! And HSM in the theatre is seriously brilliant silly fun. We were grinning all the way through.
We are totes MFEO! I think it was my senior year in college when I discovered the awesomeness that is Chess. I listened to basically nothing but that for about six months and took over the DVD player with the charity performance (the Julia Murney one). Drove my roommate absolutely batty. But oh! &hearts &hearts &hearts Now I want to dig out my old Chess icons!
OMG. I never realised there was a Royal Albert Hall version with a modern cast! I've got the Elaine Page/Murry Head version, of course (on audio) but I MUST buy this swanky new DVD version with Maureen from Rent.
Have you seen that version? Is it worth it? It'll cost a fortune to ship it.

And hee! HSM is a total guilty pleasure of mine too. I adore Ryan and Sharpay :)
I want fabulous, that is my simple request. All things fabulous/Bigger and better and best.

And yes, Sharpay is definitely the hero. And I want a HSM-they're all grown up - when they're all 21.
Just to see Ryan's boyfriend. ;-)
