And today I had the crushingly similar realization that I have to throw away the stuff I was wanting to save from the first/second/third start of the Archivalist book, or it stays comatose to death

Heh, exactly.

Since my brain's been working in the background on both of these issues for several weeks or longer, my true feeling is more along the lines of: "It's about time!"

Because when both of the books I've started in the past couple of months have stalled out, and I haven't written anything on either of them in a couple of weeks, this creeping dread of never actually getting to write them starts to rise...

Of course, I'm just trying to correct my direction toward what I was aiming for all along, so it feels less exciting over here, but...

I did start writing again last night, and it had that nice pull of something where I've got a handle on its language and feeling. So cheers!
