I spend most of my day waiting for mail that never arrives
I am so consumed with the idea that someone wants to talk to me
that I dont do anything to really talk about.  Or basically brag about.
This is the age where parents want to brag about there children.
How successful and productive they are.

what I have found and what totally SUCKS about life as a grown-up is that...it's not about passion...it's not about purpose...it's not about ambition...it's not about drive...yes these things are nice to have but these things don't actually TAKE you anywhere. they are merely forces for the nasty word that life is really all about...discipline.

it's all about stupid discipline.

passion, purpose, ambition, etc... make self-discipline less painful, of course. but it's all about disciplining yourself to keep going even when you're not "living the dream" if you will. then along the way, the dream becomes clearer and you find things...and people who make the dream even clearer and...more beautiful. *end rant* :)

i think our jaded misperceptions upon graduating and your mentioned blessed event of turning 18 allowed us to think that we could just jump into the dream...you can't...as i think we've both found.

you work and work and work and fuckin work for it...then you realize what you thought you wanted to do you really dont' want to do at all...so you work some more for whatever other dream finds you.
