Earls' Garage here in Shoreline (just off I-5 at 145th and 15th) is very good; they've managed to fix things on my car the dealership couldn't suss out.

The check engine light could be on because the car needs a 60k mile check up. Cars usually require some kind of regular maintenance at about 60k miles.

Grant and I have had good luck with Aki's Auto shop here in Ballard. But, I'm not sure that they do regualr auto work, or if they just stick to accident work.

We trust our mechanic very much. I've been taking cars there for more than 20 years. It's not conveniently located, but they're trustworthy.

Well, my current mechanic is Len's Automotive in Bellevue, which might not help you much. Back in my U-district days I took it to Salmon's at 25th Ave. & 65th St. NE. I have no complaints about either of them.

By the way, I'm sorry I blew off the sale. I was too tired and over budget. I look forward with interest, though, to future posts.

Specialty Auto in Ballard has always treated me right. Of course that's when I had a car and all. They were considerably cheaper than all the other places I called for quotes whenever my car broke down.
