Can I quote myself? :)
yellow is your color, I must say :D All your yellow icons are great
Can't choose between #1 and #5, they're both great, Kim! Maybe I'm going to say #5, because I'm very partial to b/w icons and the b/w part of this icon is gorgeous.

And for the least favorite, let's see... #2, perhaps. It's a great icon, with a stunning coloring and crop, but it looks a little over-sharpened and grainy. But that's all :D

I just can't stay away from yellow, Valentina! It's rather obvious, isn't it? I'm glad that the coloring I love so much is one you think I tend to do well.

I certainly can see where it looks oversharpened, so thank you for letting me know what you did and didnt like about #2, my dear! :)

Ah might as well. All this is new stuff I've been sitting on, so you guys can tell me what's working and what's not. Be vicious; as long as it is helpful, I don't care.

Fave is #5 because of the color and composition but especially the text, it's great.

Least fave is #2 because it's too obvious the background has been extended and it's distracting because it's the first thing I see before the color or good composition or anything.

favorite: 01. The variation in colors in this icon are beautiful! None of them are too overpowering, and the way her face and the hair framing it is so warm, but gently shifts to cool colors (in her clothing and the hair at the back of her head) is just stunning! The sense of light is also amazing in this icon, and it makes it feel so dynamic and real, I feel as though I could reach out and touch her! The crop is lovely as well. Beautiful icon from a talented maker!

least favorite: 05. A brutal task to have to pick a least favorite, but it had to be done! There is a lot of things working in this icon: the crop is dynamic and presents a focus to the icon; the sense of light in this icon is beautiful and moody, the variations in light and dark adds a lot of visual interest. The only two things that leave something to be desired are the colors and the text. The coloring is not bad at all, but I wish there was more to it, rather than just reds and yellow. It makes the entire icon feel very hot, with no visual cue for the eye to ( ... )

My absolute fave is 2. That is an incredible piece with so much amazing negative space. Despite all that space, and the hazy texture, the subject doesn't get lost or overwhelmed. That is a truly gorgeous icon!

Aww! Thank you! It was an experiment (the texture didn't convinced me so much) so I'm very glad to see that you like it!

favourite: I think #5 is a lovely icon. It's simple, but the execution is flawless. The crop is stunning, because it's not the sort of crop you're likely to see all the time, but it's not awkward at all. I think the natural colouring really works here as well, especially with the slight dark shadows - nothing overwhelms the icon, everything compliments each other. But the crop is definitely the standout. It's truly amazing.

least favourite Me being nit-picky, but I think #1 is a little overwhelmed by things. I really like the colouring (I'm such a fan of the pink gradient it's ridiculous) but I think because you've used that, and several subsequent textures, everything becomes a little lost in the image. I really enjoy the graininess of it, but I don't know if the text in the background holds any real purpose. I can't really read it, so it's just letters against a background for me, which are a little distracting. I think this icon could have been a case of less is more. If you wanted to focus on the text, then really allow the icon ( ... )

My favorite would be #4, although it was hard to choose because I also like #3 very much. I'm choosing #4 because of its stunning coloring, contrast and sharpness. It's a gorgeous close crop indeed.

My least favourite is #5: it's creative, but the background is somehow distracting, and the subject lacks a bit of contrast and depth, in my opinion. :)

favorite: 03. Ugh, this was so hard to choose, between 2-4. This icon has it all: a beautiful crop, a subtle yet lovely sense of light, and a gorgeous coloring (I love how soft and warm it is, and the way her turquoise sweater pops against the brown and yellows is delicious, for lack of a better word). Both she and the tree behind her are perfectly sharpened, and the branches really bring the focus of the icon to her face. This icon is just absolutely gorgeous, and I wish I had heard of you before, because now I feel as though I have been missing out on your icons!

least favorite: 05. The only thing I dislike about this icon is that his hair and the other pats of him that should be dark feel washed out. It's not very bothering though, because his skin is also very light, but a beautiful color, and the way light and shadow plays on his shoulders is just beautiful!

Least Fave: 1 has interesting reds going on, but I honestly can't quite make out what's going in the image. Plus, it looks like there's whitish blur texture at the bottom right that seems unnecessary, but that may actually just be part of the screencap, so forgive me for saying that if it's not an intentional blue at all.

Fave: 3 has such a sweet, soft coloring and great composition. It conveys serenity and is so pretty! I think it might be the slightest bit more effective if the subject were scaled down a bit, but it's a beautiful piece!

My favorite is #3: some time ago, someone asked for the coloring of that very icon at coloring_help and I remade it from the original image. It was a very subtle coloring to achieve, I remember. It was difficult to get the right shadow on her chin and not to make her hair over-saturated. So, this is why I'm picking this one along with the beautiful crop.

My least favorite is #4: the crop is a little bit awkward and it lacks a tad of contrast, in my opinion. :)

favorite: 03. The crop is perfect, the coloring is to die for, the sense of light is absolutely gorgeous, it's perfectly sharpened... Everything, and I mean everything, about this icon is perfect. I wish I was a fan of her, just so I could have a reason to use it! ♥

least favorite: 05. The crop is great, and I love the purple and blues, my only wish is that there was more light variations. As it is right now, everything is pretty much a flat purple, and the highlights on her face and hair don't stand out much from the rest of her.

Least Fave: 2 has an amazing crop, but the coloring doesn't quite flatter the photo. I think it might be more effective if done in straight B/W.

Fave: 3 has such great contrast, so that the hair's red truly pops against the subject's pale neck. The crop is lovely, too!
