Tutorial 06 ; House/Wilson Coloring

USING PS7 in 11 layers - NO CURVES.
01. I used this image from House - "All In" screencaps I got from cap_it. Crop and resize your base to 100x100. Sharpen your base slightly by going to Filter > Sharpen > Unsharp Mask. My settings:
Amount: 50%, Radius: 1.0 pixels, Threshold: 0 levels
Duplicate your base and set it to Screen at 100%. Now, duplicate your Screen layer and change the opacity to your desire. (I left mine at 100%).

The following color combinations are similar to those posted by nastia_icons here.
02. Create a new layer above everything and fill it with a dark blue (#003663) and set the Blend Mode to Exclusion. I lowered the opacity of the layer to 65%.

03. Create a new layer and fill it with a bright light blue (#6DCFF6) and set the blend mode to Color Burn at 100%.

05. Create a new layer and fill it with a light pink (#F49AC1) and set the blend mode to Soft Light at 100%.

06. Create another new layer and fill with a peach (#F7C8AC) and set the blend mode to Multiply at 100%. The layer might look a little heavy now, but we'll fix that.

07. *OPTIONAL LAYER* Create yet another new layer and fill it with a light orange/peach (#E7A076) and set the blend mode to Soft Light at 100%.
This layer lightens up darker bases. You may or may not include this step. However, I suggest including this layer, then when you finish the tutorial, decide whether or not you want the layer.

08. Create a new layer and fill it with a light blue (#9BD9F3) and set the blend mode to Color Burn at 100%.

09. Now go ALL the way back to your base and duplicate it (Ctrl+J in PS7). Drag it on top of ALL your layers and set the blend mode to Soft Light at 100%. The icon now has depth.

10. Finally, go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance or click on the black/white half-circle on your layers palette and click on Color Balance. My settings:

And there you have it! You can add text, textures, brushes, whatever you want! I'd love to see your results. :)
