I realize this is a pretty amateur question, but I'm getting frustrated and there has to be a better way to do this. (I also realize this is a web-related comm, not print, but IDK where I should be asking this ( Read more... )

I think that it'll always be different, although you need to start your project as a CMYK one, that way it's a less different result than if you compare RGB and print in CMYK.

The file is already in CMYK. I remember to do that much!

I'm not 100% sure as i've not done a lot of print work (a few posters that i had printed at staples).. but i think it has to do with the Resolution or DPI (dots per inch) of the file you are creating..
Photoshop defaults to 72 dpi.. but i think standard for printing is around 300dpi...

I don't know if that will fix your issue, but thats the only suggestion i could come up with :)

The file is something like 500DPI
