Ask the maker 3.0!

Jul 17, 2012 21:00

It's time for our third round of Ask the Maker!

Here you'll get the chance to ask icon makers who sign up, questions about their icons and other graphics. You can ask for tutorials, guides/"How to", or ask any other questions regarding their work so the makers can compile a Q&A post with the answers to all the questions they get. As always, .PSD ( Read more... )

I'd love to hear something about how you make your textures! It doesn't have to be anything long; just a general overview would be great. :)

I can make a tutorial for these icons if you want. I don't have the .psds but I can get a close result to the original I think XD

I'd love to know how you achieve that not quite monochrome but brown, natural coloring like in this icon:

Basically to achieve this coloring I use brown/light brown textures on Soft Light and low opacities since I use two or more. The original coloring of the image helped in this case but usually I paste a lot of textures to change the coloring.

I'll make a new tutorial on blocking for you since I changed a lot my method. :)
