*He's been here for a few days and Jacob's finally gotten around to looking over the journals. Well, for more than a few minutes at a time, at least. He might as well try out making an entry while he's at it ( Read more... )

Hello Jacob. Welcome to the keep. My name is Te Ata.

I don't think you need to worry about the crows. The only ones they seem to have a problem with for now are the hawks.

Hey, nice to meet you. If you don't mind me asking, that's an interesting name, does it mean anything?
Have you been here long? I don't mean that as a pickup line or anything, I'm just curious.

Well, they won't talk to me...I haven't done anything other than to try to say hi, though. Maybe it just takes them awhile to warm up.

Well yes it does. It means "bringer of dawn". And I've been here for...about 6 weeks now, I think.

They don't? Maybe they just don't like talking to outsiders.

Ah, I like that, its pretty.
Six weeks, though, man...I'm not used to staying put for too long. I hope we don't have to stay over a few months.

Could be, maybe they just don't like intruders in their territory. I'll just try again later, maybe I can find something to use as a peace offering.

Before you receive several angry replies for stating that everyone is failing at finding a way out, I just want to welcome you to this fine establishment.

I take it you've found one of the many corpses laying about?

Corpses? Well, not of crows, just pidgeons. I imagine that's the raptors, though. Crows usually don't kill pidgeons.

Well, you never know here with the creatures here. You managed to missed the party with the talking pumpkin heads.

The talking...wait, what? Talking pumpkin heads? Like actual pumpkins?

I don't think the crows'll care one way or another.

You don't? Why not?

Th'only thing they seem t'care about is gettin' in all th'food.

Well, that's pretty normal for crows, they gotta eat somehow. But most are pretty social, at least within their own murders.
