1) Store Policies: Do not scream, bitch, whine, or roll your eyes at the associate explaining store policy to you. She did not write it. Further, do not do the forementioned when speaking with that associate's manager. She did not write it, either.

2) Store Merchandise: Never blatantly throw merchandise up over a rack, under a rack, on the ( Read more... )

I'm glad to make you smile. I keep thinking about you and was just yesterday talking about the time that you scared the life out of me when I got out of the shower. I don't need to say it. I know you know what I'm thinking. *sigh*

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I have been wanting to scream that at so many people almost my entire life. I worked at Nordstrom for 8 years, and because of the policy "the customer is always right" and the high standards for customer service, we sales people are continually yelled at, given rude looks, pestered, and badgered just because we work there. Like you said, as if we make the rules or tan the leather ourselves (I love that guy who didn't want to get his wife a leather jacket with real fur! LOL)

I think the second a shopper steps foot into a store, they instantly turn stupid. I've seen it happen way too much, which is why I am no longer in retail - I couldn't handle it anymore! I applaud you for working so hard and for sticking it out. I'm sorry you have to deal with those sucky people, and I hope some more nice ones come in to make up for them!

Thanks again for posting that - I totally hear ya, and know firsthand that people need to read it

Honestly, I wish that I could re-play the tantrums that people throw in a store. Grown adults! Some of them go to the lengths of stomping their feet, and I want to ask them if they have raised children. If so, they must not have done such a wonderful job!

It is so amazing, how little people think of others even at a time like this. I'm not a waitress or a stripper. I do not get tips. I am simply an underpaid sales worker who receives little respect. I will celebrate and weep with joy when I am able to quit retail.

Good lord, I hear what your sayin! Thats why I avoid retail like the plague, after a series retail (I.E. HELL) jobs. The Limited, Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie&Fitch, and the worst: Kaufmanns. People suck! I must say though, at Abercrombie we were allowed to be snots back, and we didn't really have to help people unless they asked you to.That was actually nice. Lol.

I often joke with my co-workers that I would do whatever it took to work at Abercrombie & Fitch. I claim that I would starve myself down to 100 lbs, and stop wearing makeup if that's what it would take. I LOVE the idea of a no-customer service policy. And it seems to be working for them, they definitely make the money and get the sales. The last time I was in there I asked to get into a fitting room, and the guy acted as if I was bothering him! Must be nice...
