Hello

Hello
is how people come together to begin again.
g. 415 words.

There are some things he can no longer look at the same ever again. Like puppies, daisies, bonnets or little girls in pigtails. He doesn't think they are necessarily terrible to give up looking at, but-- She liked puppies, daisies, bonnets and putting her hair up in pigtails. And so, he doesn't like to look at those anymore. There was no reason to anymore.

There are some songs she can no longer listen to the same ever again. Like the one about keeping her secrets in his heart or the one about loving one another even as the sun sets. She doesn't think they are exceptional songs but-- He sang them to her over and over again once upon a time. And so, she doesn't like to listen to them once they come on. There was no reason to anymore.

But there is something curious about this particular pup when it jumped on him so suddenly, he had to stop for a moment. Perhaps it was the color of its fur, or the softness of it that caught his attention - perhaps it was because it looked so happy to see him. Perhaps. He kneels and pets it nonetheless, then smiles, remembering--

But there is something about this song (I just need a chance for me to show you my heart 'cause the only other way to tell you is through my prayers to God*) that made her hesitate to skip it. Perhaps it was because she somehow understood these foreign words and its meaning - perhaps it was because she was comforted by the accompanying vocals this song revealed. Perhaps. She hums along nonetheless and smiles, remembering--

"I can't even get my own dog to obey me better than my brother. How am I ever going to keep a cat?"

"Don't worry, you'll do fine. You're you and that's enough."

"I'm going to do better, and someday I might just reach you."

"You don't have to. You just have to sing... that's all I need."

"You--" She loses her voice just as the word slips off her mouth.

He stood up slowly, his eyes staring into hers in surprise. "You..."

There was something about that day that put the lost pieces back into their place. Like a puzzle finally solved; or an equation finally quantified. Like shattered pieces of a heart finally coming together a whole. A beginning, once again.

"Hello, Taeyeon." I've been looking for you.

"Hello, Junsu." And I've been waiting.

- - NOTE: I was hit suddenly with the inspiration to write a Taeyeon/Junsu drabble. ♥ I love this couple, and I just don't get the hate between this couple and Junsu/Zhang Li Yin. /sighs Oh well.

And yes, I know. I write too much angst! I'll try to write more fluff I promise... next year. :))

*Song lyrics from Yoochun's solo, "I Love You".
