Just got home from my first singing lesson.

It was amazing =DDD. I really like my teacher; I think she has a fantastic voice. She's funny, too - she was incredibly surprised when I told her that I like classical music and opera.

You know, I never realized before how loud opera singer's voice are! I knew to some degree that they had to be quite loud

I'm a soprano :D I'm the tallest in my section too which means I'm at the very back/top row in all of our concerts -_-

How old is she? She's amazing! Her voice has such clarity and resonance!

Me too! I didn't like her voice much when I first heard it (in Libiamo from the Salzburg production of La Traviata), but I soon warmed up to it :). I especially love her Addio Del Passato. I've have the opera on CD with Beverly Sills, but I just like Anna's version better.

Really? That is so weird.

I didn't like her at first, when I heard her Libiamo, but then I grew to like her.

Is it really so bad to try to make opera look "cool"? Maybe it'll get more people into it, like silly teenagers who think it's "lame"?

Well, I dunno about that. I like lighter-timbred voices better, so I'm kinda biased ;). I do think her voice is very powerful, though. No?
