I think I should write rules for myself

...for writing fanfiction. or, in other words: things I should not do when writing or posting fanfiction or when trying to get over writer's block (like now)
keep in mind that I'm actually able to get on a computer at all now because I'm home sick, and have been since sunday. what also sucks is that aside from it being almost exactly like what happened to me a few months ago in israel, we have no clue what's actually wrong.

rule 1: I should not post fics past midnight. and I WILL NOT past 1am. it's not worth the hassle of dealing with uncooperative sites and html, especially not when I'm half asleep, and especially starting again in the fall when I will have roommates to think of again. I highly doubt they will want to hear me cursing out lj at 2:30 in the morning

rule 2: unless I'm writing crack, crack-smut, or a story that takes place at sea, I will not listen to anything by the lonely island (like this song ::facepalm::)
--addendum: sometimes no music IS good music

rule 3:

rule 4: not all plot bunnies are good plot bunnies.

ADDED 11/30
rule 5: I should stop reading 30kisses entries more than 24 hours ahead of time.
--addendum: if I'm not going to type it until a few hours before I should at least have the whole "plot" completely worked out

rule 6: don't read heavy-duty character-specific bashing fics for days on end, and then try and write that character. I guarantee you self, it will result in them being OOC. yes, even if Gwen really is like that sometimes, she's also has potential to be a BAMF at other times. so break it up

EDIT: so rule 3 got deleted accidentally, it had something to do with tense and self-esteem and not reading reposte's fics beforehand. (4 got deleted also, but I remember it)
(hmmm... what else?)
