The concrete countertop from the first episode of James May's Man Lab is the ugliest thing I've ever seen. I wouldn't put it in my house, even if my house was a bunker designed to survive a zombie-asteroid-nuclear apocalypse.

I saw the second episode before the first (though I had it on my Sky+), and when they did the little flashback to the first episode it was like WAIT WHAT WHY DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS.

I get far too much enjoyment out of watching Mr Armstrong... well, do anything, I guess. But good lord, who doesn't have space in their heart for a man who can put a chest of drawers together? ♥

/too much enjoyment indeed

I've been meaning to watch this. Is it worth it? I adore James May, but I wasn't sure about this programme from what I'd heard about it.

By the way, if you like Alexander Armstrong, I hope you've seen his episode of Who Do You Think You Are? I liked him before, but seeing him on that show made me fall in love with him a wee bit, bless his posh little heart.

I like Mythbusters, How It's Made, etc. (What genre is that? "blokes doing stuff", I guess...) If you've got a fondness for that kind of reality TV then you'll probably like it! And May is, as always, really clever and funny.

I'll have to check out his ep of Who Do You Think You Are?. Thanks for the recommendation!
