Interrogation hsus_snowman November 10 2011, 15:21:07 UTC
Francois Durand had been left alone in the cell for a very long time. At least it felt like that to him. After giving him plenty to drink, he had been stripped naked and hosed down with water so that now he was fighting off shivering constantly. He was made to sit on an old aluminium frame chair, and he knew someone was monitoring him as everytime he tried to move, even to try and get more comfortable a voice would warn him not to. He was desperate to take a piss, but as wretched as he had been already, he struggled not to humiliate himself again ( ... )

Durand's nervous gaze darted from one man to the next. If Orestes was trying to be very intimidating he was succeeding very well, and everything he had heard about him seemed to be proved true right away. He didn't seem to be the patient type either, and perhaps he would push for a quick and (hopefully) painless death because Durand knew from that cabin what pleasure the other two took from tormenting their victims ( ... )

"The highest level?" Alex smirked, and he had his 'in', where the fool slipped. He might be a mid-level flunky, but he knew more than he let on, and he had shown that card to the sharp interrogators. "How would you know if the high level bosses approved, Durand? I don't think you just took Klein's word for it. Non, you are not that good a little soldier, nor do you have that fanatical passion that means laying your life down without knowing what was in it for you. So...as my new friend here so articulately put it, you need to give us names and places, and do it fast." Alexandre put his hand on top of the prisoner's head, and turned it towards Orestes. "Patience is not his great gift. And you know that the vampire isn't fond of you. If you annoy me further, I will have Hsu Danmei come in here to ask you again, and I don't think you want to have an up close and personal meeting with your intended victim ( ... )

Adding to Durand's state of fear was Xiao, who was still standing by their prisoner as he wrote. He paused again once he had written down all the names he could think of. He held the notepad out to Alex. "Here...here, you go ( ... )

"Some soldier...pissing yourself like a girl. You are really pathetic." Alex was amused by how much fear this Watcher had for the vampire. Orestes shook his head, as well. The fear of a coward, selling out his friends in a pathetic attempt to save his own skin, stank worse than the urine. "You and your kind are the worst of what passes for humanity. All that terror for what is different, and you have no idea how vast the universe is, and that you are not so special, or better. Humans are better than this, better than you ( ... )

As Xiao glanced over the list Durand was scribbling, he also recognized some of the names, which only showed how big they were as he only, really, took a minimal interest into human companies and businesses that hadn't directly affected him. These hadn't, until now ( ... )

"These Watchers have taken such a recent interest in science. I wonder how they would like it if they were Kronos' lab rats?" Du Pont had worked for Hsu long enough to know of some background of the Horseman. Seemed only fair that those who were so happy to use other humans for their scientific cruelties should endure the same in return. "Perhaps we will arrange that for the future, with every raid on every lab." Alex was eying Durand. One one hand, yes, the man had cooperated. On the other, he had been only too happy to sell out his friends. It was a complete violation of his personal codes. If he were captured, and tortured, he would give up nothing about Hsu. He could not imagine offering his friends up to save his neck ( ... )

Xiao chuckled at du Pont's idea. "I'm sure Kronos would be pleased to receive human subjects for once instead of relying on chimpanzees. I shall put the idea to Milord, but I am sure that the thought of Watchers helping advance the scientific research of an Immortal, no less a Horseman would be deemed fitting."

He also nodded his concern over Hsu. Despite how he had been during the previous interrogations and their plotting, he knew that Hsu was still feeling the affects of his illness, even if he tried not to show it. As for himself, he was still well fed after the raid on the cottage, but it was full daylight now, and he needed to rest until sundown.

He watched on dispassionately as Alex stabbed him, his arms folded across his chest in almost boredom as Durand screamed. Stepping forward, he held him as Orestes hauled the wretch to his feet. "I doubt that he knows how to die like a man. Finish him, Alex, he is not worth our time, and I don't even want his filthy blood to stain my fangs."

"Fuck this fool." Alex stepped behind Durand, and with one deep slash, cut open the man's throat, letting him gurgle and drown in blood as he fell to the floor. They had better things to do, bigger prey to hunt and a friend to all three that needed their solid support ( ... )

While it was true that Snowman was still well fed after the slaughter at the cabin, the sight of Durand's blood gushing from his throat should have aroused some bloodlust within him, but the disgust he felt for that useless piece of meat override even that instinct ( ... )
