When I moved from Albuquerque to Seattle I decided to go see a few of the tourist places I'd always avoided while living there. One was the Roswell UFO museum. The big exhibit on the Roswell alien ship crash was a piece of the wreckage sealed in a big glass display case. Except, here's the thing, the government covered up the crash by scooping up the ship and taking it to area 51 in Nevada and putting a wrecked weather balloon in it's place. In the display case was a piece of the government cover up weather balloon. Proof! If the government didn't switch the alien ship with a weather balloon then where did it come from? Makes ya think, doesn't it.

On a more serious note, if you ever think about making the arduous trek down to Roswell to see the museum for fun or for kitsch or for whatever, you might want to reconsider. Unless alien head shaped key fobs, pencil erasers, and lapel pins are your thing, there really isn't much to see there. The museum looked more like a child's diorama. There was the aforementioned alien coverup weather balloon and then mostly newspaper clippings they had cut out with stories about aliens, books people had published about aliens, and some sketches people had drawn of the aliens they saw (and let me tell you, aliens apparently avoid picking on people with artistic talent). Oh, and there was a section of wall dedicated to crop circle memorabilia too.

The weather balloon is just a diversion! icarus_penguin October 23 2007, 02:19:01 UTC
So, while you were there, did you check out the crop circle photos? Did you find Pi?

I really don't care so much about the alien eraser heads . . . unless the ratio of their DIAMETERS to their CIRCUMFERENCES is Pi!

Besides, I know that most people think that the government spirited the spaceship away and they replaced it with a weather balloon, but they really didn't.

Don't tell anyone, but the spaceship is actually in plain sight, in a different location. You spent some time New Mexico - did you go up to see (space)Shiprock? It's actually on the way to Seattle, if you take the right roads. Wait a minute -- that means that it's ON THE WAY to the Space Needle.

This CAN'T be a coincidence!

Besides, once I went to Oregon to see Klamath Falls. People there looked at me like was a complete nut. The truth is (don't tell anyone) the FALLS aren't there anymore!

No doubt about it, I gotta get a new hat!
