6 The road was getting rockier, a sign that they were finally reaching the campsite. All throughout the trip she was debating with herself why she decided to come this year. She'd miss out on all the fun because she never attended excursions and gave random medical maladies as lame excuses. But this year she was on the bus, looking at the vast landscapes of the countryside outside the window, contemplating on why she really did come this year. She had "change-of-lifestyle" on her list but whenever she had a chance to glance at the farthest part of the bus and see him soundlessly sleeping, she thought of what really was on top of the list.
Lucky. Because her room was situated just by the pool. Unlucky. Because she had to share it with the class rep, who if not asleep, would be blabbering about how to get a guy in a minute.
But sad. Because he was not on her team. They stood on opposite camp spots and she was now getting the feeling that she wouldn't be enjoying this.
She was just staring at the fire that they were starting. They had to cook for their dinner tonight.
He started bringing firewood to his team's spot and noticed that she wasn't participating and definitely not enjoying the first night on camp.
"Namikawa can cook!" He shouted from the other side. She swore she could break his jaw if he was just a meter away.
They passed her the ladle and she decided he will never get a chance to taste her dish. Fortunately for her team, she really did cook good food.
Not that she was hungry but she just had enough and decided to look around to kill time. Heavily forested it was, and the cold, fresh breeze brushing her hair made her smile. Maybe she made the right decision. It was miles and miles away from the city of noise and pollution and yes, she was indeed getting her change-to-a-healthy-lifestyle objective.

They were planning for a bonfire or something for the first night. I have no idea what happens in this part of the program but whatever, I'm here to enjoy right? And what is taking them so long?
Oh well. Need to wait and...Now, where was that dork?

She tried not to be so conspicuous when she realized she was already in his team's spot. Holding that hot pan of stew, she silently made her way to him, who was cheerfully talking with the ladies around him. She had to stop there, meters away from that picturesque scene in front of her. What in the world was she even doing? And for some unknown reason they just found the pan lying on the ground, and thought that it miraculously fell from heaven. But he thought otherwise.

She skipped the bonfire session and hurriedly made her way back to her room, which was actually on the other side of the resort but since she was preoccupied with other things she forgot to take the right turn.
Some random bars were open and she stumbled into one with a few people inside. Her insides were uneasy. Just replaying the scene earlier made her stomach churn. There was definitely something wrong with her.
"Something that can knock me off my feet please." She expected vodka or martini, or any liquor for the matter, because she was one easy girl to knock off. A mug of hot choco was placed in front of her instead. She stared at the bartender.
"We make sure we don't get minors drunk. And it looks like you need a hot cup instead of alcohol. You look pale miss."
Be careful what you wish for...you might just get it.
His eyes were just enough to knock her off her feet. His face was like that of an angel's. She tried to gather her thoughts here. Wait...what?
"Excuse me? Who are you calling minor?"
He was busy wiping wine glasses under the dim light.
"You came with that batch of school kids this afternoon. Why are you here? Lost?"
It annoyed her when he acted bossy over her. She wanted to argue but her head was just dizzy. Giving up, she took that mug and drank it all the way to the last drop. It surprisingly made her feel a little better.
"Thanks for this, by the way." She tried to stand up but her feet felt wobbly. "You might not want to walk yet miss." Good thing he was beside her in an instant before she could land on the floor, face first.

They were just a few steps away from her room and he was being careful not to touch anything other than her room keys when he was reaching for them while carrying her on his back. It was one tough and awkward position to begin with. But he mentally reminded himself that it was part of customer service.
Now that the keys were in his left hand, he made sure she was not gonna fall off his back, but when he was about to pull her back up, a sturdy hand was already on his shoulder.
"I think I'll be taking it from here." The sound of authority evident in his voice.
Doing his part of the customer service, he slowly and gently bended over and had her slip into the arms of the other one, who was waiting for her for hours already.
"She's sick and she's-"
"I know. And thank you for doing your job. You can now leave."
He did as he was told...but something told him he shouldn't leave her with him like that.
He thought of suggesting she had to be brought to the clinic or something but when he glanced back, he saw the other guy looking at her intently like he was about to cry.
Just the sight of that and then he knew where his place should be.
