The descriptions of the city are tangible, like I can see and taste it. And strangely, the depictions of the darker, violent elements have the same kind of beauty and clarity. I like it; you get a sense for why The Girl could love this woman, who notices beautiful things and loves living and is a little melancholy, even though she finds murder easy.
Just. Your settings, like always, I---I was there, but dammit there wasn't a place I wanted to be but God, Rei, now I want to dye my fucking hair pink and write a letter, I think, and I shouldn't want to write that letter to my own That Girl. It's just. I've been in hotels like these, like hers, I'm going to be in one in Russia and I should buy a blue wig and wear it in St. Petersburg's Square, or whatever, and I'm really sorry I'm emoting all over your beautiful story, Rei.
Tell you what. I'll send you a picture of me in Moscow. (I'll work on that blue hair.) I think I need to write a letter now.
This is why you were online! D-did you get the DVD?
Oh, this is really gorgeous. I love how evocative your description of Venice is, and how strange and lovely the narration of your main character. This is beautiful and strange in the best of ways. Excellent story!
