I loved the original little mermaid, and I was just looking for stories based on it, so this story made me very happy! Very beautiful, and having the POV of one of her sisters was an interesting idea
-The sorceress smiles, eerily. She talks a jar from her shelf of potions, and places an oddly-shaped, pink object into her mouth. When she speaks, it is with the exact voice of your little sister.
“Perhaps you should not have asked.”
-If she had her tongue, she might have been laughing for her love’s sake, but in your heart, all you hear is screaming.
-you back dive into the ocean, and try not to wonder why.
These lines just felt very powerful as I read this, with a strong emotional punch.
Thank you very much for your comment! What makes me happiest is when I'm able to move a reader. ^^ And I'm glad you liked the last line. (I didn't think it was meaningful enough, so, yeah. Teehee.)
Oh, this story is genius. I've never particularly liked Anderson's 'The Little Mermaid', because I feel so bad for the mermaid, but this story is such a lovely, heartbreaking take on it. I love the idea of telling it from the pov of one of the sisters; that's amazing. This story is really great. Thank you.

Some bits I liked particularly:
