I might be one of the few to wish that Jack would give Rhi a chance to know little Ianto. Is Jack afraid that Rhi would reject him? Does he believe that Rhi would try to take custody of his son?

Thank you for your comment.

Jack is scared that Rhi will try to take custody of his son . He's his last connection to Ianto and taking care of his son has what has kept Jack going these last two years.

He's letting Gwen tell Rhi about little Ianto, but its for the reason above he will not do it himself. Now getting Rhi to believe to truth is another issue entirely.

Gwen needs to shut up! She has no right to tell someone, who is doing a great job of raising his son, how to live his life.

It's up to Jack to tell Rhi about little Ianto, yes she would be happy to know about him, but ultimately it is Jack's decision.

Thank you.

But this is Gwen after all and she never really saw Jack as the type to be a hands on parent. She refuses to,see where Jack is coming from all of this.

And if Jack where to tell Rhi the truth, would she believe it?

Yay another part :-)
It sounds like Jack is doing a great job with his son. You've got Gwen's voice right - thinking she knows best. Her heart is in the right place, she is only trying to help, but it is "help" that Jack could do without!

Thank you.

I'm glad I got her right. In a way she is right, but its not her place to try to make Jack mind up. And as someone who carried a life within for nine months, you think Gwen would have an idea of where Jack was coming from.

Yep, that's our Gwen, saving her compassion for those who least deserve it. She is so sure she of her position she has failed to actually hear or acknowledge the pain her "friend" is feeling. I got the feeling from canon that Ianto did not spend a lot of time with his sister's family but that he did love his sister, niece and nephew. He probably tolerated Johnny, be even that was friendly. But Jack had no relationship with them and I can see how he would wonder how to make that happen in the 21st century where his paternity could be challenged. I don't blame him being cautious, but I hope Little Ianto does get to meet his cousins. I think they'd love him lots. So would Rhiannon if she doesn't get grabby with him.

That is exactly what I was going for here. Gwen's only thought was that everyone should be one big happy family when the reality is that doesn't always happen.

I got that that something else besides the death other their father caused Ianto to leave Wales in the first place and that Jack probably knew why.

And Jack is scared that Rhiannon would want custody of little Ianto. Can you imagine the paternity test results on the boy? But telling Rhiannon the truth and her believing it is another issue. Gwen and Rhys can beehive it cause they know all about Jack, but Rhi knows next to nothing. Only the little Ianto told her in CoE.

Eta: forgot to say thanks.

I've a bad feeling Gwen's going to muck things up as usual...

I kinda see both sides though; I do think Rhi should know about her nephew, yet I agree that's it's Jack decision. His only concern is for little Ianto's best interests. I hope this comes to a good resolution.
