His mind drifted away before his head even hit the pillow. The journey into Dreamworld was not the usual one: first came the few hours of blankness, undecipherable to the brain, then the beginnings of sounds being carried swiftly through the air. The dreamscape remained unknown until the awakening of his other senses took place; his vision hazy, lost somewhere in the transition between the two worlds. It didn't matter through, he didn't need it.

His mind willed his index fingers to move, and they did, the motions of his body becoming more lucid with each thought. He felt the texture of thick grass underneath his palms, serving as a mattress for him to lay upon. Then, the wind moved; an invisible force straining to push him onto his feet. His body drifted, as if it were submerged in water, far into the air, the current sweeping him into another dimension. The body landed gently on the surface of a foreign world; lost, intoxicated with the heavy burden of a sleep-driven mind.

Columns. That was the first noticeable thing about the strange utopia, their silhouettes set firmly in air, defying the laws of gravity. The sky was tinted a surreal purple as light cut through the colour, creating various shades of the same essence. He walked along a path of pebbles, searching for something, someone. He didn't know who or what, he was just missing something. Missing a puzzle piece that completed him.

Then he heard it; the faint sound of music coming from behind. Snapping around in desperation, he was met with the handsome face of a male stranger, playing a peculiar instrument he had never seen before.

“So you came...” His voice worn, torn and directed right at him.

“Sorry but I-”

“-don't think I know you. Is that what you were going to say?” The stranger cut him off, frustrated.

“...Yes, why?”

Silence. Then came a mutter; “If only we were in a different dreamworld...”

“What do you-” It was too late; the man's body was already vanishing, melting into the air. “W-Wait!” The man didn't reappear.

There was something about that incident that caused a certain sleep-driven mind to visit the same dreamscape every night, hoping for the mysterious man to appear once more. Luck wasn't on his side however. But it didn't matter, he would wait.

The End.

Just to clarify; the mysterious man is Anthony xD
